    Frankford Arsenal Wet Tumbler

You don’t need their overpriced cleaning solution. I’m actually running mine right now - Dawn and Lemishine. You can use lots of things - wash n wax car wash is another popular one. The key is to get something that suds so the particles get suspended somewhat. If you use citric acid, be...

    wet tumbler question

I've done the wash n wax thing. Results weren't the same as tumbling in corn cob infused with wax. That really shines them up too. Easier to spot in the grass at the range.

    wet tumbler question

When I want to store brass for an extended period of time, after wet tumbling (deprimed if rifle, not if pistol) and drying in the oven, I'll tumble in corn cob and car wax (Nufinish or any other). That puts a nice protectant on the brass and resists tarnishing. You can even skip the oven...

Lee Pro Auto-Disk; a better way

I get the same thing when trying to use the chart - their chart is useless. The cavities never end up with the charge weights they claim. The linear trend equation is a great approach. And I have two sets of disks - one with screw holes tapped into the side of each cavity. That way I can...

    wet tumbler question

I don't deprime pistol brass before wet tumbling with pins. There is no accuracy to be gained by cleaning pistol primer pockets...but it may do something for soothing one's OCD. My time is worth more than my desire to have brass so clean I could eat off it. I dry them in the oven...

EOTech giving owners full refund for holographic sights

L3 is involved in lots of things. A buddy used to work there as a contractor working on some sort of defense department project (classified - he wouldn't tell me). My guess is this was a nuisance and nothing more.

    Ruger Precision Rifle Muzzle Brake

Whew....got it off...finally. I've not used that much force to remove a muzzle device before, although I've not removed one that uses a nut to push against it. Any AR flash hider I've removed has been a fraction of the force this required. Now to get some flat black paint to cover the scratch...

    Ruger Precision Rifle Muzzle Brake

Zotto and Bartojc- so the brake isn't connected to the nut? I thought they were one piece? So I turn the nut and the brake in opposite directions? Do you know which one I turn clockwise? Thanks in advance for the help guys....I've never struggled with a muzzle device that is this stubborn.

    Ruger Precision Rifle Muzzle Brake

Yeah, I did that. The nut wont come loose. Do they lock tite them?

    Ruger Precision Rifle Muzzle Brake

I picked up my new Ruger Precision Rifle on Thursday, and the muzzle brake is off about 10 degrees to the left (if you're facing the muzzle). I've tried several different methods of turning it, the last being what should have worked (two wood blocks with hole bored through clamped in my vise)...

    avon ohio cabelas?

You can't go to Cabelas expecting to get answers. The employees typically don't know anything about the products they sell. This is especially true when it comes to reloading. I use Cabelas for convenience and when I need something quickly and don't want to wait.

Just stocked up Powder, Bullets, etc.

Not so sure about that. During the worst of the shortage, primers and bullets were available. Powder wasn't. My powder supply is enough for 20x the rounds of my bullet and primer supply.

Finding The Sweet Spot - .223Rem Loading

Do you guys typically find a charge that works well for accuracy, then tweak OAL? Or tweak OAL at different charge weights? Is it possible that one charge could be inaccurate at one OAL but highly accurate at another? I've always struggled with this dilemma. When do you stop tweaking and...

Powder choices for 5.56mm in a semi auto?

IMR 4064 is most accurate in my 1-8, 223 Wilde 16" barrel. 69 gr HPBT bullets.

Questions about moving to progressive press

I pulled the disconnector off my auto drum. But you do need to watch to make sure you don't double charge. I love my Loadmaster. Sure, a Dillon is a better press, but I wasn't going to sink $1k into it, when I got the Loadmaster and all of the accessories for about $350. Check out the...

    nervous!

Something went wrong, other than overcharging, if they indeed blew up an AR loading 223 with 335. IMO, there's not enough case volume to fit enough powder that will blow up a gun that is in good working order. Assume they are using a 55 gr bullet. Hodgdons website will call for somewhere...

    Loadmaster guru wanted

Hard to tell but the carrier doesn't look aligned properly. You'll know for sure of it doesn't index. Make sure the primer system parts are all there (pin and spring). Other than the case feed assembly (slider isn't missing though) it looks complete.

Lee Loadmaster. Your Experience and Recommendations

I run a LM for pistol only. Any issues I have had were caused by me being sloppy. Magic Mike, whose site was already mentioned, offers mods for those who can't get their press running smoothly. Most complaints are about the priming system, which I haven't had any issues other than running...
