Inch group at 50 yards. Good or substandard?

I have a CZ 452 that really likes Wolf Match Target. I found this by trying different types of ammunition until I found one that particular gun seemed to like the best. Trying different types 22lr was mentioned several times in the above posts. Walkalong has targets in his post that show what...

    Couldn't pass it up

Nice looking gun. I can see why you couldn’t pass on it. I wouldn’t have been able to pass either. Enjoy it!

    Bolt Action .223 Recommendations

I have a Savage model 12 BVSS. Too heavy for what your looking for, but the 1:9 twist shoots great with heavier bullets. Mine really likes 69g, but shoots the 62 and 64 grains quite well. I recently tried some 75g and they seemed good shooters as well.

    Sights for aging eyes

A reflex sight would definitely help. I have a Burris Fastfire III on my 1911 for bullseye shooting. Made a difference in my scores.

    What about Beretta 92?

Mine was accurate and dependable and more then good enough for home defense. Never carried it though and sold it after a few years. And never had “sellers remorse” after getting rid of it.

Was given this as a present...

You are very fortunate! The gun looks to be in excellent condition. I have a 27-2 and I really enjoy shooting it. It’s extremely accurate as well.

All around shotgun - any reason NOT to buy a 12 gauge ???

I have a BT-99, single barrel break open action in 12 gauge for trap. I really like the gun but if I was going to get one today I would buy a 12 gauge Browning Citori o/u with at least a 30” barrel. Then you would be set for any type of clays.

    Still no primers

No primers I my area either. I have received a couple of emails for primers in stock. But at $74.99/1000 plus hazmat and shipping you are looking at about $120 per thousand. I”ll just shoot a less and make what I have last a while.

    Typical to acceptable accuracy standards?

That’s fine for hunting at 100 yds.

Thinking about a Bushnell Engage scope.

I have a Bushnell Elite 4200 on my hunting rifle. This is the second rifle for this scope. It is approximately 15 years old and has held up well in all kinds of weather. I haven’t purchased a Bushnell recently so I don’t know how the quality is today.

    Beloved S&W 27

That is good to know! I wonder how plated billets would work.

    First of the season

I have flushed quite a few birds this year but without a dog they are often gone in thick cover before I can get a shot at them. But I really enjoy bird hunting, more so than deer hunting.

Keeping Older Hunters Interested. How can it be done?

I am 66 and still enjoy hunting. I have a couple of friends, one late 70’s and one early 80’s who still hunt. Although the weather plays a large part in their going out on a particular day. Most of the time I hunt alone as they are not interested in going out early in the cold. But at least they...

S&W Shield 9mm or Taurus G3c to carry

I have an original Shield 9mm and am very happy with it. As others have suggested try different bullet weights ( if you can find them) before making your decision.

    Personal defense ammo suggestions...thanks

Federal HST in 9mm. Or in the current conditions any decent hollow point you can find.
