Thanks to all for the responses. I agree, SS109/M855 is far more inferior round than other alternatives, but for the sake of science, I do enjoy figuring out the physics of different loads in my rifles to find the sweet spot for a particular round.
Can anyone recommend a place that makes and sells KIA/MIA memorial bracelets? Looking for an outfit that uses American made materials and American labor to make them, preferably veteran owned and operated.
If this is not the right forum for this, I apologize. I couldn't a forum appropriate for...
Right on! Is there a general spread (or low/high) of acceptable temperature and relative humidity that a safe is supposed to be at?
Another question: If the humidity in a safe is very dry, say in the 20-30 relative humidity range, a Golden Rod or Eva-Dry isn't going to help, no? Those...
If one HAS to drill a hole in a typical gun safe to allow the passage of a cable for a power strip inside the safe, where's the best place to drill that hole? Would you run that hole through the interior fireproofing as well, or route the cable behind it?

To answer the question: http://www.tractorsupply.com/en/store/winchesterreg%3B-gun-safe-24-gun-capacity
Really, the only game in town near your price point and is pound-for-pound vastly superior to...
In regards to a 1911, would this not occur anyway if there was a loaded magazine in the weapon and you use the slide release to send the slide forward?
To all who have responded, I want to thank you for the info, and of course I have another question.
It is universally agreed that allowing...
Ah yes, okay! Thanks very much for clearing this up! Everything works exactly as intended then. Looks like it's user error then.
I'm brand new to the world of 1911's (although not to semi-automatics). Thank you for the advice, much appreciated!
I recently picked up a Rock Island Armory 1911, product link here:
https://us.armscor.com/products/1911-midsize-gi
Anyway, I noticed that when the slide is locked to the rear, and the magazine is in the well, the slide release becomes extremely difficult to send the slide forward, so...
As far as "tactical" shotguns go, the short list is Remington and Benelli. The Remington 870 Magpul Edition is nice, as it offers Magpul furniture, along with a forward pump grip that incorporates mounting points for flashlights and such. The Benelli M4 is a semi-auto shotgun and is the...
Thanks to all for the responses thus far. Couple of points to clarify:
1) The floor is concrete
2) The location that the safe is in receives water during torrential downpours, making the carpet wet in that area. The safe must be off the ground for two reasons: a) to allow airflow so the area...
There's a couple places I go for ammo cans. I prefer Cope's due to their free shipping of orders over $50.
Coleman's Military Surplus and Cope's Distributing.
What would the advantages and/or disadvantages be, from a security point of view, of drilling a hole straight through the square steel stock and using long lag bolts through it and into the floor instead?
In order to defeat safe breakers, which option would be more advantageous and why?

This. It's the only game in town near your price point and is pound-for-pound vastly superior to anything that Dicks, Cabelas, Bass Pro Shop or Gander Mountain sells. Goes for $550 on Black Friday, $700 rest of...
Challenge: How would you secure the pictured gun safe to the floor? Two rules:
1) The gun safe cannot be secured/bolted to the wall
2) The four black gun safe "feet" must stay on
Interesting. The GoldenRod 12" dehumidifier is 12 watts and rated for 100 cubic feet. The PEET is 13 watts... no cubic feet coverage is given. Since the PEET is higher rated in wattage than the GoldenRod, one has to wonder if it covers more cubic feet than the rod.
Thoughts? Do you think the...
In lieu of a rod or EVA-Dry system, I found another alternative... sorta? Anyone have any experience with the following?

Has anyone used one of these, or can provide feedback or thoughts on it?
EDIT: Oily, Xikar makes fine products. You will be happy with...
