Not typical for any SA made by any Manufacturer .
I only have two SA's a Ruger Blackhawk and a Ruger Wrangler ... and both can be cocked with the muzzel pointed in any direction ... just did straight up, straight down and out sideways ... with both and no hang ups or binding anywhere .

I was only trying to post some helpful information ... not all want to wait / pay for custom made plugs ...
They just so easy to make and you get a perfect fit with J-B Weld .
If you have a good suggestion ... pass it along ...
we all sailing in the same reloading boat .

I'm looking at the Hornady Handbook 8th edition - 223 Remington - 55 gr. bullet section .
With the powders you have , velocity wise ... only one powder beats Varget ... ( BL-C2 )
Now IMR4895 is only 100 fps below Varget ... and IMR4895 has long been used in Service Rifle Match Ammo and is known...
The Ruger Super Wrangler is a good buy ... it has adjustable sights and two cylinders ... one that shoots 22 CB Caps , 22 Shorts , 22 Longs and 22 LR and a second cylinder to shoot 22 Magnum with .
The local Cabela's has them advertised at $229 ... two years ago I bought the fixed sighted...
I began stock piling Powder , Primers , Brass cases , bullet moulds , wheel weights and 22 Rimfire ammo in 2007-2008 ... I have since moved to full blown Hoarding .
You a little late !

Get a custom fit in any seating plug with The Bullet and J-B Weld Epoxy Putty .
Clean and degrease inside of the plug ... wax or grease the bullet - so it doesn't get stuck in the fitted seating plug . You can use J-B Weld epoxy Glue but it might run ... the epoxy Putty stays put ...
Get a...
Check NOE Bullet Moulds for a better copy of the Lyman ...
www.noebulletmoulds.com
Look at design #'s ... 453-197-SWC ... 453-198-SWC and ... 453-200-SWC
NOE moulds use Lee mould handles (90005) with no modifications required ...
Once you try a NOE mould ... you will Throw Rocks at Lee &...
The best penetrating oil is a DIY mix of conventional Automatic Transmission Fluid ( I use GM compatible ) and Acetone ... a 50 / 50 mix ... Now here is the important part .... a choke has a lot of fine threads and it takes any penetrating oil a long time to work it's way all through those fine...
My hands down favorite is the old Lyman design # 452460 ... a 200 gr. SWC ... just the Ticket for Target shooting .
I've tried many designs in the last 50 years but the 452460 keeps rising to the top ...
I haven't found a 1911 it will not perform in even a AMT Hardbballer and a Star Model PS 45...
If you believe that it helps you load better , more accurate ammunition ...
... Then Keep On Keeping On !
Test it out on the range ... and make sure ... I don't have one of those and use other methods to load concentric ammo . But do whatever works for you ... there is more than one way to...
I've been reloading since 1967 and can't remember ever measuring a primer pocket ...
Insert a primer ... if they go in and fit snugly ... and don't fall out ...
You are Good To Go !
Louisiana Swamp People say ... CHOOT EM !
Gary
Certified Louisiana Cajun
Read a couple extensive tests ... no issues reported .
Same bullet , powder charge , one case with SPP and the other case with LPP ...
Not much variation in velocity , just normal variations .
Concensus Small or Large primers didn't make any difference .
Gary
That should do it ! If one of those loads isn't a "Tack Driver" ... Something's Up ...
I don't know what but it just can't be your Bullseye loads !
Good Luck ... hope you hit pay-dirt !
Gary
I like the Lee Case Lube . You can dissolve it in alcohol , put it in a spray bottle and spray it on , shake the plastic container to spread evenly , and in a minute or two they dry and lubed !
If you don't use lube with carbide sizing dies ... you missing out ... Easy In - Easy Out ...
That's...
I like the way a nice Wax job looks on an oiled stock ... adds just enough sheen , wax feeds the wood and adds some protection . Any good brand of paste wax made for wood furniture or wood floors .
I've used Howards Feed & Wax - Wood Polish , Min-Wax Paste Finishing Wax and even good old S.C...
My notes for a Target Load - 45 acp - cast 200gr. SWC (Lyman 452460) - keep showing -
4.5 grs. Bullseye @ 830 fps
And ... I won a First Place Trophy with that load in a G. I. Service Pistol Match .
If you can't get an accurate load with Bullseye powder ... with from 4.2 grs ... to ... 4.7
(...
Seat the bullet so they plunk and spin ... 1.175" or 1.155" the 45 acp likes deep seated ( the thickness of a thumbnail was often cited as the depth from the shoulder) and that is still valid ... in the 45 acp .
Now 4.8 grs to 5.4 grs ... What powder are you using ?
I have 50 years...
The extractor will hold it against the force of the fireing pin ... usually but not always , depends on the extractor .
So much for headspacing on the cartridge mouth !!!
