    My hands down favorite is the old Lyman design # 452460 ... a 200 gr. SWC ... just the Ticket for Target shooting . I've tried many designs in the last 50 years but the 452460 keeps rising to the top ... I haven't found a 1911 it will not perform in even a AMT Hardbballer and a Star Model PS 45...

    Read a couple extensive tests ... no issues reported . Same bullet , powder charge , one case with SPP and the other case with LPP ... Not much variation in velocity , just normal variations . Concensus Small or Large primers didn't make any difference . Gary

    Seat the bullet so they plunk and spin ... 1.175" or 1.155" the 45 acp likes deep seated ( the thickness of a thumbnail was often cited as the depth from the shoulder) and that is still valid ... in the 45 acp . Now 4.8 grs to 5.4 grs ... What powder are you using ? I have 50 years...

    Weird range pick up brass.

    The extractor will hold it against the force of the fireing pin ... usually but not always , depends on the extractor . So much for headspacing on the cartridge mouth !!! Gary
