.38 Spl is quickly becoming a favorite

Maybe. My several .38 Special K frames don’t need to be stressed. That‘s the domain of magnum revolvers.

    Model 10-5, plus P ammo?

I have several older model 10s and a model 64. I don’t see the point in stressing these fine old revolvers. My old model 19 also gets pampered. Hot loads (.357) are reserved for 686, Blackhawk and GP100.

    Match Grade Machine

I appreciate the feedback. The MGM barrel is ordered… .223, 1:9, 24”, heavy barrel, Pic rail. Now I wait. Range report pending.

    Match Grade Machine

I’m considering getting a .223 barrel for an Encore rifle. Does anyone have any direct experience with their products, specifically custom rifle barrels for TC Encore frames?

Would you shoot home reloaded ammo from a private party?

I never put someone else’s reloads in my guns. And… My reloads are never in someone else’s guns.

    Reloading supplies legit or scam?

What does anyone know about https://reloading-supplies.com/? They claim to have primers for not crazy prices, considering the times we’re in. Fishy?

    Signs of Stress

After many years, most issues I’ve had with split handgun cases have been nickel plated .357 and well used full pressure .44 Magnum cases. Also, too much case belling can weaken case mouths causing split case mouths. .223/5.56 cases get loose primer pockets after a while.

    Primers

I’m not prone to optimism, but things might be easing a bit. A small gun shop nearby had a very small supply of only small rifle primers with a 1k limit. I walked away with 1k of CCI 400 primers for $4.90 per 100.

Problems loading 230g RN berry 45 ACP during bullet seating

This solved it all for me seating H&G 68 style 200 grain SWC and 230 grain cast RN with a Dillon 550b... https://lousgunwork.com/M-Neck-Expander-Powder-Dies.html Not cheap, but well worth it. The Lee crimp die also helps. If it matters, the same combination fixed the same issue with 9mm 115...

Highest round count in a single gun?

My first revolver, new in 1987 Super Blackhawk Bisley .44 Magnum 7.5” At least 10,000 240-300 grain cast bullets, all at magnum velocity. (By the way, I gave $240 for it, brand new.)

    38+p in a S&W 10

My Model 10s and the M64, no dash do not get fed +p loads. Of course I can’t know their history with previous owners. Those old gems get mostly target loads with cast DE WCs. I don’t see the point in potentially stressing these old jewels for a few fps on paper targets. Hotter loads in .357...

    Federal primer packaging? Why?!?!!

Ditto on the Dillon primer flip tray. Eliminate frustration for a few $$, regardless of the primer packaging. For whatever it matters, I use mostly CCI, but ready for whatever is available.

    Who owns a .500 magnum?

While I do not own a .500, or plan to acquire one, I did shoot a SW 500 a few years ago. Not knowing what weight bullet or loading it was, the recoil was manageable. For those who are not used heavy recoiling revolvers, it could intimidate. For a bit of context I’ve been shooting a .44 SBH and...

At what price - stop buying/start reloading 9mm?

I get 115 grain roundnose cast for 7.3 cents plus tax, locally (http://moyerscastbullets.com/handgun.html) With primers, powder and the Dillon 550, not counting my old-man-retired time, my CZ75 gets well fed. Factory prices have not been that low for a very long time.
