Pulled, but a pretty decent deal nonetheless
Welcome to CT. I'm sure any of us would be wiling to help you with legality of bringing certain guns into the state. Be mindful that any threaded barrel on a semi automatic pistol is illegal as well.
I've read about the Russian design before and found it interesting. One thing I remember reading is that they had to make the cases very thick to contain the gasses safely.
And for the record, those pre-made bags that nothing fits in just right is perfect for one pounders of hodgden powder bottles. I'm going to seal my primers next. This is the perfect way to long term store and to know which powders are opened. Plus it appeals to my weird obsession with vacuum...
I was thinking about a low strength glue that I could apply when I load blackout, and brush off when I want to change calibers. I had it work out enough to rain brass once. I think mine is a little taller than yours.
Well I got around to trying it out and it definitely works most of the time. The only problem is that the shotgun she'll starts to walk out after a bunch. I am thinking I might play around a little with the idea and see what else I can do to tweak it.
Thanks again for the insanely easy fix though
That is ridiculously ingenious for 300AAC! I've been scratching my head and I eventually gave up on how to solve the blackout case feeding issue. I'm going to work on this mod today and see what I can do.
THANK YOU!
Thanks for the explanation. I've been seriously considering doing something similar for a while. I like the added step of grabbing and flipping the bullet to be removed.
Maybe this setup doesn't save a ton of time like an automatic collater, but it allows you to focus on everything your...
I went to three different gun stores this week and 2/3 said they couldn't sell guns because the state's system was down. One of them I drove 40 minutes to pick a gun up that came in last week. One of the gun stores said they are starting to think the state is just screwing with them. Meanwhile...
I find that ss109 bullets are not inherently accurate. I really like using Hornady HPBT bullets in 5.56x45mm. I get my best accuracy from a 75gr HPBT bullets. My last load I used power pro 2000mr. I think you'll have better accuracy with a heavier bullet.
I have a range setup in my backyard where the first set of targets is 35 yards from my back deck. I practice drawing and putting rounds on target at this range as quickly as possible. I shoot at an old fire engine fuel tank that I cut and welded into a bullet trap. It's approximately 3' wide by...
It's a subsonic load probably. I've been wanting to fool around with subsonic 223 loads for a little while now. Trailboss is incredible in 308. And I use 9.4 grains in that.
I've got a handful of blackout rifles myself and I've got to say, by favorite one is my handi rifle. It's quiet, accurate, and doesn't end up with me shooting a while lot of ammunition in one session!
I have a 94 year old neighbor who lived on a farm house all of her life. She told me that he mother would expertly butcher and cook snapping turtle and that it was incredibly delicious if you knew how to butcher it properly.
