With so many different .45s out there today, such as Spingfield XDs, Glocks, Para Ordanance, Berettas, etc., why is the 1911 the most popular .45 out there. I think that the above mentioned companies offer superior designs when compared to the 1911.
Mine is Hornady TAP 147gr jhp. It has black nickel plated casings to ensure proper feeding and ejection, the bullets have good penetration and expansion, and the powder is formulated to have low flash to preserve night vision.

I recently read that the subsonic 147gr jhp in 9mm has been a disapointment within the law enforcement community for it's lack of stopping power, and that most were going to 115gr or 124gr +p rounds. I carry Hornady TAP 147gr jhp in my Beretta 9000 for ccw. Anybody else heard of this problem?
