Do you have a cheap rifle that shoots incredibly accurate

Both my Ruger Americans in 223 and 243 with cheap (under $200) scopes shoot very good right out of the box. Bought the 243 at a Walmart clearance for $188. Those were the days.

Recommend a .308 Bolt Action Rifle?

Another vote for the Ruger American. I have several in 223, 243, 30-06, and 6.5 CM. Everyone of them are VERY accurate straight out of the box with Wally World ammo. With handloads, everyone of them are tack drivers, no brag, just fact. Without a doubt, the most accurate rifles, straight out...

    What's your H335 Load for .223/5.56?

I've been shooting the 55 gr Hornady FMJ with 25 gr of H335 for years. A good accurate load for the 55 gr bullet (55's not the most accurate bullet ) that also cheap to shoot . The SMK's are a much better choice for accuracy, however for cost, the Hornaday's allow for more trigger time.

    New Rifle Day

I have Ruger Americans in 223, 243, 30-06, & 6.5 CM. All shoot amazingly well right out of the box. I've put lower end scopes (under $250) on all of them and each shoots better than I do. I lightened the trigger on the 223 & the 30-06, but the other 2 were set very nice from the factory. For an...

Swedish Mauser 6.5x55 load discrepancy in LEE data

I recently acquired a nice condition Swedish Mauser that I want to reload for. I reload for my other rifles and pistols of various calibers. When I started to assemble my components and data I discovered what I believe to be a significant discrepancy in the LEE load dat for powder charges. The...

Heritage Arms Rough Rider 22 LR & 22 Mag

I bought one out of a Pawn shop in new condition for $100, but only had the 22 LR cylinder.shot well and was surprisingly accurate. Maybe I got lucky. I later bought a 22 Mag cylinder off of ebay and took it to the range. It shot those not so well. I do enjoy shooting the 22LR's with my Grand...

    Ruger American

I have the standard RA in both 243 and 30-06. Both are crazy accurate with $200 scopes on them. The most accurate rifles out of the box I have ever owned. Would like to check out a 223 though.

Anybody have experience with a Beretta 85?

Finally "pulled the trigger" (pun intended) on the 85F and very glad I did. Great looking gun, soft recoil, and accurate As stated good DA trigger, but a little extra travel on SA. Fit and finish show typical Beretta pride from he factory. Only drawback is it only came with 1 mag and the mags...

Anybody have experience with a Beretta 85?

Been eyeballing a Beretta 85 (380) for a while but still haven't made the purchase. Anybody have any experience with one of these? It would mostly be a small range plinker and maybe and possible part-time CCW. Any Pro's or Con's with these appreciated.

    Cost of rebluing a rifle

I recently aquired a 1954 Marlin 39A (22 Lever Action) in a very used condition. The stock neeeds work and the metal has some light surface rust on some spots and a uneven brownish patina on other spots. I would like to restore the rifle as a possible gift to my daughter (likes lever actions)...

I was at a small local GS where I purchased an Ithica SKB XL900 shotty, gas operated semi. I bought this with the purpose of learning to shoot trap (which I know nothing about), hopefully this suit that need. I haven't been able to find much info about this model. Is anyone familiar with it...

    S&w sd9ve?

I had one that was stolen in a break -in. It had the worst trigger out there, just a tiny bit better than a P64 . It was reliable, but I never replaced it, never missed it.

    Mosin nagant Trigger Issue... Help.

This. I have 6 M39's, one of my favorite bolt action rifles. All have good triggers, 2 of them have really good triggers and can challenge my K31's at the range. for what started out as a (what some call) a crude Mosin, the transformation that the Finns did with them is nothing short of...

    308 Ruger American accuracy.

Another vote for changing the scope, maybe mounts/rings too. I have a RA in 243 and was amazed by the rifles accuracy right out of the box with a not-expensive scope. just over 1" with factory ammo. I'm sure handloads would offer even more improvement.

Recommend me a 30-06 hunting rifle?

Check out the Ruger American. Shoot the Ruger American. You won't be disappointed, in fact most people are pretty impressed and surprised after shooting one. Uncommon accuracy right out of the box.
