I am left handed. My Springfield Armory SA-35 only has the safety on the left side of the slide. I am carrying in condition 2 (loaded chamber, hammer down) I can manipulate the hammer easier then trying to take the safety off. Its a bitch trying to use my left hand to take the safety off.
Any...
Saw on Buds the Hellcat Pro OSP. It comes with 5 mags, red dot sight and a range bag for $599
Bought it to replace my S&W Shield 9mm. Went to Bass Pro and handled one. Definitely feels better and it comes with four 15 rd mags and one 17 rd mag.
Anyone got thoughts on the Hellcat or how they...
Ya gotta pick one. Original 4in S&W 686 or the original 4in Colt King Cobra.
Will be a carry/ home defense revolver.
I'm in the 686 camp myself. Had both, loved both. But my no dash 686 is still with me.
My opinion only. I think it's the best 357 made.
For self defense ammunition. Is there really that much difference in standard pressure loadings for the 9mm when you put the 115gr up against the 124gr?
I use 124 HST in Autumn/Winter and 115 Gold Dots for Spring/Summer.
This is out of a Shield and a Hi Power I carry these loads for.
My new Springfield SA-25 has shown up.
It is everything I hoped for and expected. I could not be happier with this purchase.
Bought 3 xtra mec gars to go with it as well.
Buddy of mine carries his Ruger LCP in a Remora holster in his back pocket. Anyone else carry a bug gun in their back pocket. He said it's a great place to carry a bug, as his main gun ( CZ-75 PCR) is on his hip with an IWB holster.
Never known anyone to carry like that. Seems a bit time...
Just bought one of these new off the auctions.
Anyone have one? Everything I've read and watched, seems to be positive now that they've been out a while.
Really like the Hi Power look. Always wanted one, but not for the price today. Got mine for $699.
Is the Glock 26 really that much better of a gun than the Taurus G3c?
I've got the G3c, just thinking about the possibility of the Glock being an addition to my collection.
But if there really isn't a huge difference, I won't spend the dough on the Glock
I've never had an issue with my G3c.
When I go shoot. I keep a round count of all the calibers I shoot. At the end of the year I add them up to see the amount of ammo I sent down range with each caliber and gun used. Just a little spreadsheet to help me in tracking my reloading and what guns saw the most action and what guns saw...
Does anyone have a preference to old vs. new Ruger GP100's
I have a SS 1998 and a Blued 2008 GP. The 98 is a true 4in, not one of the 4.2in guns. My 2008 is a 6in half lug barrel gun Mine have the Ruger rubber grips with the rosewood inserts. Not those Hogue ugly grips.
I love the older models...
My 1985 model 624's are so smooth and shoot worthy. They certainly don't make em like this today. I'm glad I am the proud owner of a piece of S&W revolver history. The 44 Special is truly Special!
Thinking hard on buying a vintage 35 Winchester. The 1895 lever action is something I truly love. The gun was manufactured in 1929. Action is solid, barrel and bore are perfect. Wood is excellent as well. No splitting or cracks in it. The current owner wants $2000 for it.
Will use 30-40 Krag...
New year, new challenges. It's of course an election year, inflation isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Costs of ammunition is going up according to Vista. Components are ridiculously high, wars in Ukraine and Israel are still going on. The US border debacle is sizzling.
Are ya stocked up on...
I love all types of guns. I own many different calibers in auto and revolver. Revolvers are my absolute favorite though. I prefer a 357 magnum over anything else. I've been a shooter since 81 and the love affair is stronger than ever.
Here's my take on something that some may think...
Before I even start. This is not a caliber war. Both these calibers have proven themselves as excellent self-defense rounds and they come in all different types of handguns. If you could choose between a six round 357 Magnum or a 7 round 9 mm which would you choose and why?
The reason I'm asking...
I've never had more than 4 rifles.
I own an 83 Stevens 110E K series 243 topped with a fixed 4x
An 84 Winchester 94 in 30-30, a 94 Savage 110 30-06 topped with a 2x9 and finally a Marlin 60 in 22lr.
For all my hunting needs in my state and for all 50 states my battery of rifles will get the job...
Bought this off the auctions 7-8 years ago. My 1975 HIgh Standard Sentinel MK-IV in 22 mag is one of the best 22 mag revolvers made. Love shooting this gun. Plenty reliable, accurate as you'd want for plinking of self defense. The gun is deeply blued with a pinned barrel. This is a rare top...
I have a 1981 Ruger Security Six 4in blued model. Been toting it around for so long I can't recall the last time it gave me a problem. Wait!!!! It never has. All these years carrying this, shooting it, not once have I ever had a reason to cuss it.
Just a rock solid 357 Ruger turned out. Bill...
Was at the local Cabela's (oops, Bass Pro) today in Kansas City KS. I don't frequent the place but maybe 3 times a year. Only go to get a gift for someone. Picked up a box of 9mm for the stepson. I figured I'd walk around a bit just to look and waste a bit of time.
Just unbelievable the cost of...
