Striker Fired: What am I Missing?

One feature on some of the polymer striker handguns that you might like is the ability to change backstraps (or frames) to create a custom fit to your hand.

    Help with powder check dies

I have the Hornady Powder Cop and RCBS lock out die. I prefer the Hornady because it’s easier to set up and adjust. Since you are running a six station press, the lock out die might be better because you don’t have to visually check it. Six stations is a lot going on at once.

    Ruger American Pistol

I’ve got the 9mm compact American. It’s a soft shooter. I originally purchased it when they came on the market as a “do it all” gun for carry, nightstand, and range. It’s a little heavy for carry by today’s standards but it still gets a lot of range time.

    Carry Gun: Thinking About Rethinking

It’s also possible that you were just having an off day. Were you missing targets that you typically hit with the Sig? Or was this the first time you have used the Sig under the stress of competition?

New turret press under development with 3/4/5/6 configuration turrets

I found these two videos on YouTube. The case ejector looks cool. https://youtu.be/UoHikHQu27I?si=XKAdL2Qh2elJstW1 https://youtu.be/YfM7FYkKOzM?si=zpqJF6dP2bQZPEki

    Why 32 h&r?

Recoil is a significant issue for many. When I first started shooting handguns a few years ago, I was much more recoil sensitive than now. When renting guns to find something for concealed carry, the 38 snub, 9mm subcompacts, and 380 micros all hurt to shoot and induced too much flinch. I ended...

    What Got You Into Reloading?

My stepdad wanted to start reloading for his guns and I needed an affordable way to feed a new 32 H&R revolver. So we bought a Lee Pro 1000 and went down the rabbit hole from there.

Powder selection choices and substitution reality for 2024

I decided to invest in several lbs of powder recently for the cartridges that I reload (9mm, 38 Sp, 380, 32 H&R, and 45acp). I found a decent price on Ramshot Zip so that’s what I chose. I haven’t tried it yet but I understand its performance is similar to HP 38, which I have used.

    9mm Case Head Separation

The crack might have occurred when the shell holder pulled the case out of the U die. I’ve been experimenting with the 9mm U die and it takes a lot more force to insert and extract the brass.

What have you done in the reloading room today

Tried loading some 45acp yesterday with Acme 230grn coated RN. I kept getting a little shaving when seating with the Lee die, even with a generous flare and the seating die adjusted for no crimp. I might need to get a Lyman M die and a better seating die. Even when adjusted for no crimp the...

    Ball vs Handle

A ball handle gives me a better feel, especially when seating primers. The roller handle is good for the rhythm on a progressive press.
