The old calibers are some of the best. The only new ones i shoot are the.22 tcm,9 mm, .357 mag,the 7.62+39 and the .44 mag. The.22 lr, .22 tcm and the 9 mm are mostly good for target work and the other for more serious work.
My older calibers are:
.22 lr
.32 sw .32 hr
.32-20
.38 special
.38-40...
.22 lr

.44 special
.44 mag
.45 colt
9 mm
.38-40
.44-40
7.62-39
.30-30
.45-70
I can always find at least one caliber in the store,44-40 ammo in stock. my hardest to find ammo has been .41 mag.
i also have a ruger .45 acp-.45colt.I shoot more .45 acp in it because of the ammo price. The other convertible i have is a smith model 16 ,I shoot .32 hr mag,.32 long,.32 short and .32 acp
i dont think the k.32 masterpiece is going to sell,it does not look that badtome. For the price it looks a lot better than the one priced at $4000.00+.
The smith wesson k.32 masterpiece is back on GunBroker at the same price. I cannot make up my mind. It does not look that bad compared to the $4000.00 one. Seems like a good buy at $1999.99. I just bought two SW model 29 and will have to sell something to come up with the money,o well.
what should i be on the lookout for when buying a smith wesson k.32? I found one on a auction site that looks fairly well and a good price. Im new at this older gun stuff. I collect mostly nickle n frames.
I bought a .22 tcm when they first came out, piece of junk. I kelp it five or six years before I had enough and sent it back. The one they sent me was top of the line in shooting. I lapped and recrowned the barrel. Mighty fine rifle for the price. I also have the 1911 tcm with the extra 9mm...
Would federal premium 45/70 300 grain hammer down ammo be ok to shoot in a Springfield 45/70 trapdoor rifle? Wal mart had one box at $32.70. It does not say anywhere yes or no. Muzzle velocity is 1850 FPS.
The ones I own are:
.22lc
.22 tcm
.32 acp
.32 sw .32 swl
.32-20
.38 spcial
.357 mag
9mm
.41 mag
.44 special
.44 mag
.45 acp
..45 colt
The 22tcm,.32-20 and all of the forty calibers get the most use with the .45 colt being my favorite
My most expensive is a smith Wesson k.32 masterpiece inherited from my favorite uncle. He bought it back in the fifties. Now it’s worth over $3000.00,not for sale.
My oldest will be:
Springfield trapdoor carbine 45-70
Springfield trapdoor rifle 45-70
Remington rolling block carbine 44-40
Remington rolling block rifle 7mm
Three smith Wesson revolvers 32swl
Smith Wesson revolver 32-20
Smith Wesson k32 masterpiece
All are great shooters
I just bought a smith Wesson model 16-4 after looking for one a long time. The bad part was I had to leave a 4 inch and a 6 inch model 16 because of not enough money.
I have one box winchester 405 grain blackpowder .45-70 in the two piece box, also a box of 500 grain smokeless 45-70 in the two piece box that will fire without problems. Matter of fact I will use them for deer season this fall.
