Ive been thinking the same thing.... not a trench conversion, but just to cut the barrel on one of my mdl 12s. Both 16ga, made in the 20s, finish is equally rough on both, and theyre both smooth as butter. But horribly long for moving around indoors
I dont OC because i feel it's tactically foolish.
I see people openly carrying pretty often, and i gotta tell ya... their situational awareness was shaky at best.
But for some, it may be their best option for a myriad of reasons, and id certainly never begrudge them that.... but i may...
Some of y'all have left the principle of the High Road, and are off in the weeds all PO'd about the reasoning and opinions of others. Kinda sad really.
I like the mini and appreciate it for what it is. It is the horribly crapped on 187 series, with the only mod being an M1 carbine rear...
The threads on it are 1/2-20. Shouldnt be too hard to make one.
Thats the press I used for years, and still do. I also have a Lyman spartan single stage, from the same era. (Thanks to Bazoo!) I just swap die sets on it, since i never know which cartridge im doing next. The only thing that...
Id rather my muscles ingrained memory include sweeping the safety off.
I suppose preferences come from what a person gets used to. I was raised and trained on SA's, and a safety kinda goes with that.
If these new primers are several thousandths shorter.... that could very well make the difference.
If the tool maxes out before the primer's seated, there ya go.
When in doubt, pull them apart and start fresh. Keep the primers intact, but resize/flare the brass and use fresh powder.
But i have in the past on large lots; inspect carefully. Weigh and measure them all. Pull 10% of the heaviest and the lightest, disassemble and check powder condition...
oh yeah I did something similar, way back when I was more dumb than now. I lost hair, and had nasty blistering over much of my right hand and up my forearm.
Black powder doesnt burn.... every bit of it goes up RIGHT NOW.
Im still an idiot, but Im sure not dumb enough to do that again
I totally agree with you. However, i believe he was primarily responding only to the use of "alleged".
The media is corrupt. And in pointing that out, we need to illustrate the real examples instead of the technically correct use of "alleged".
(I could be wrong, but pretty sure im not)
