    GP-100 and Red Dot

Weigand mounts and ultradots, have them on all my revolvers from the s&w 460 to the ruger gp100, they work great. I usually use a uncle mikes holster and modify it for the red dot, cheap and easy.

Is it true that only the meplat of a handgun bullet causes wounding in a body?

Elmer Keith designed his Keith swc back in 1928, he wasn't shy about how or why he designed it. His articles aren't hard to find and are very interesting reading.

Shooting alone in the desert, woods, wherever.

As others have mentioned, electronic earmuffs, situational awareness and having a concealed pistol. I rarely shoot at ranges as I shoot big bores and use bullet traps, hard to use on a organized range. I like to recycle my lead, don't like putting 300,400 grain bullets down range and not getting...

Shot my AR pistol for the first time today.

The problem with the ar pistols, at least for me is they keep multiplying. Started off with a couple 300 B and then got a 450 bush and a 50 wulf. Great truck guns, home defense, range toy.

    Chiappa is suddenly interesting.

The 1886 26" barrel in 45/70 definitely looks sweet. Would like to see one in person, if it's as good as the photo, my wallet might be lighter.

Reloading supplies are out as well as ammo

I was on a Facebook reloading page last weekend, I think it was. Another member mentioned midway had cci small pistol primers. I checked and they did, put a couple in the cart and checked the hazmat cost, very reasonable, and then said the heck with it. I got a good supply, maybe next year I'll...

I Went To A Gun Show Today

I like our local gun show, it's usually the same guys, year in, year out. The same guys I see at the range all the time, so not much bubblegum is foisted off. A local guy who runs a ffl out of his home is there every year with tons of powder and primers, at great prices. Always stock up. I...

    2nd AR 15 Upper Chambering?

The 6.5 grendel is a great choice. Lots of different bullets and powder to load up and find the "one load". And then the third and fourth and..........

How obsessed with Guns/shooting are you?

Not obsessed, was raised around guns and hunting. Now I enjoy unloading them and then reloading them about equal. So hunting, plinking, target shooting. What sketter skelton called woods loafing, up in the woods hiking around with a pistol, last fall I would go to my makeshift range, working up...

Taking a poll: Does your LGS carry 6.5 Grendel?

My lgs carries hornady and another brand in various bullet weights and styles. More importantly to me they stock a nice variety of powders and projectiles that work with the grendel. I wouldn't wait around waiting for one to be declared king, get a grendel and go shooting. I like mine.

    45 colt or 44 magnum

Lucky for me I don't have to chose just one. I like both, own several in each caliber, reload for both. I guess I'm just not decisive, got the same problem with the 450 bushmaster, 458 socom and the 50 Beowulf.

    Redhawk, or Super Redhawk?

I have a 44mag, 7.5 srh and a 45 colt, 4.2 redhawk. I like the redhawk but I like the super redhawk a lot more. Much better trigger, and soaks up those 300 grain hunting loads. And I like the way the srh looks.

Has Ruger ever made an attractive, iconic firearm?

My blackhawks and redhawk and especially my super redhawk are both attractive and iconic. But it's ironic that they'll take load after load of ruger only that will reduce their competition to smouldering ruins.

Bear Creek Arsenal - Save Your Purchase Receipt

If I buy anything from BCA or PSA I buy it direct from them, when I go to their web sites I log into my account and everything I've ever bought is listed, makes proof of purchase easy. I've read enough warnings on the gun forums about out of spec parts that I examine any purchases very closely...

Looking for input on an internet seller.

Their web site says the brand is Presma, a Google search reveals that it's a company based in southern California and the products are designed and manufactured in the east. Bear creek arsenal sells similar products for a little more, their web site claims made in the USA.

Shopping list (WA state ban coming)

The problem in Washington, in regards to the last initiative that became law, 1639, was that Bloomberg and some tech executives donated over five million dollars to Shepard it from initiative to state law. The nra and pro-gun forces raised a little over five hundred thousand. You can go to...

Go to the one you want on their website and click learn more, on the bottom of that is a subscribe to update, type in your e-mail and they will notify you when it's back in stock, a couple of days to a week, supply and demand. I didn't watch my e-mail and they were out of stock by the time I...

    Experience with Bear Creek Arsenal?

I've found this to be a interesting thread, other than the occasional flogging of a dead horse. I have to admit to some trepidation before I ordered the 458 socom upper a few months ago, internet searches were either love em or their big pos. For the money I decided to take the chance, I'm glad...

    Experience with Bear Creek Arsenal?

Hmmm, this thread sure is similar to one on the firing line forum, titled low price=malfunction. Thankfully, we live in America where we can argue about such trivial things. Happy thanksgiving everybody.

    Experience with Bear Creek Arsenal?

I have a couple or three, maybe more if the scuttlebutt is true that bca makes the uppers for midway that they sell under the a.r.stoner brand. I've had good luck with mine, very accurate and haven't had any problems yet. I've run a couple hard and put them up wet and they come back for more...
