    Finally got my 44 mag!

Wow, great find. I love the lines of the Redhawk and want to get one too, but as it is am satisfied with my very 1st revolver: a 7.5" SBH. The .44mag Rugers shoot like lasers on fire and are built like a brick sh** house. Enjoy the new smoke-wagon!

Hornady QC improving or did I just get lucky?

As Bart and Walkalong mention, that's time better spent doing dry-fire practice, gun cleaning, and browsing THR. Not many of us can shoot at the AMU level. But if you have the free time and it floats your boat... o_O

    Random brass

Just remember to use your discount privileges at Optics Planet, Missouri Bullet, RMR, etc. to s-t-r-e-t-c-h that "gun fund" dollar. Glad the rifle experts have got us sorted out. As another fellow mentioned ALWAYS sort out by headstamp if you plan to reload for accuracy and shoot for tight...

    Plus P 38 Special

For .38 Spl I run two different loads using Unique and a MBC .38 Match 158gr bullet: 4.1gr Unique, 158gr LSWC --- to feed my Detective Special 5.2gr ", 158gr " --- to feed my Smith Model 19 (or any .357mag) I have gone as high as 5.5gr w/o noticeable issues in the magnum (using .38 brass)...

    Random brass

While waiting for more educated* responses, My thought is you are getting excellent results from once-fired because that has been fire formed to YOUR M77 Ruger's chamber specs. So there is minimal slop and each case fits it like a tailor made suit. OTOH, the range pickups have been fire formed...

    Safest way to seat primers?

"That said I use a Lee hand primer and do it when I'm relaxing. No rush and I can inspect the brass and make sure everything feels and looks right." +1 FWIW, I view priming as Case Prep. Very convenient having a big tub of prepped/primed brass to leisurely set in the block. Off press...

    Back in the saddle again...

Edit: With the help of my mother-in-law, I was able to break away to garage again this afternoon. While throwing out a bunch of "potential ammo storage" containers (empty soup tubs, random plastic trays, etc.) I stumbled upon a trove of cleaned & prepped brass!!! Rejoice! I was able to prime...

    Korth Nighthawk 3"

Hey Craig, that's a gorgeous single-action. Fire blued screws really set everything off nicely. Is that the "C" or "D" engraving?

    Back in the saddle again...

Oh, cool. I was under the impression only CZ and maybe Savage offered a single shot "sled" for their guns. Will def look into it.

    Back in the saddle again...

Thanks for the warm response fellas. Hey Wildfire, I blew some of my 'gun fund' on a Ruger 10/22 Takedown about 6 months after those were introduced. Part of my thinking was "This will be enjoyable and the kids can have it later." After seeing my coworker's kid blow through ammo in their's I'm...

    Back in the saddle again...

Howdy Fellas, Yesterday afternoon I took a much needed 45 minute retreat to the garage. I hadn't rolled any fresh ammo since the birth of my second child over 7 months ago. After double checking my manual/notes, I methodically set my block up with some primed .38 brass. Sadly, there were less...

    Best gun deals?

Hmm... my grand slam was when I acquired a pair of Winchesters for $350. A fellow came in the shop I was working at. He had a pump action, take-down .22 WRF; and a rifle length, prewar Model 94 which was chamberd 30 W.C.F. The guns had been bought by him as wall hangers in the 60s and his new...

    .357 Magnum 7 1/2" Barrel on a SAA?

Just recently divested my 5.5" .357 SAA and will not miss the heft of it. If you've never compared them side by side, go to a friendly LGS and ask for a pair of 5.5" single actions (they can be Colts, Vaqueros, Ubertis, any make) just be sure one of them is .357mag and the other is chambered in...

Ruger vaquero 7.5" barrels not too common?

Sorry OP. The CAS gamers prefer shorter barrels, thus the lack of 7.5 inch pistolas. They voted w/ their wallets and your choice lost. :(

    S&W 686 v. Colt Python

Stick a Python barrel on a Smith.... voila, a hyper reliable and accurate "Smython". Good luck on your resale value, but if you have the means it'll probably be the only one in town. ;)

Who are your favorite Youtube gun reviewers?

Forgotten Weapons, Gunblast and Hickock45 are the few that don't make me queasy... tried sitting through more than 1 Nutnfancy video. I'd rather have a little kid lecture me on BB guns than listen to him. Anyway that's my humble opinion.

Repairing a WORTHWHILE zinc pistol frame

That is a $2k paper weight. No way in hell I'd roll over and give up 2 grand. At least notify Gunbroker to change his A+ rating. Sent from my HUAWEI G620-A2 using Tapatalk
