I don’t know if the prices will ever get back to pre panic levels. The way inflation is headed I am not sure the price of anything is going down. Ever.
I keep a clear bag with a double ended zipper on it folded up under my work area. ( I believe a bed spread came in it ) If I think things might go flying….
When I list anything to Armslist or Craigslist, I use a app phone number. If you have a smart phone, their are several apps that give you a different phone number for calls and text. TextFree and textnow are the ones that I have used. If you start getting a lot of spam calls on the app number...
Take a look at Wish.com. Almost Everything there is Counterfeit. That “Zeiss” scope is about $100. You can find “Trijicon rmr’s” on there for $40. The same for high end name brand knives. I go there not to buy things (I have never bought anything from them), but to learn how to spot fakes...
We had one lgs here that was very hard to deal with. They didn’t have a website. And half the time, they didn’t answer the phone when they were there. Then their was the owner. If you went there looking for a pistol, he would try to sell you a 1911. No matter what you said you were looking for...
I have never lost a gun out of my pocket (so far). But I walked into a restroom of a mall about 3 years ago and saw a Glock 19 magazine laying behind the toilet. I took it to the information desk for the mall. When I told them what I had found, they told me that they didn’t accept anything...
I shoot 124 grain +p gold dots. Like other people in this thread, I found it in bulk cheap before the current craziness. So I have shot enough of it to confirm reliability and accuracy in my carry gun. And that means more than any differences in jhp bullet performance between different brands.
I would love to see new Marlin lever action rifles again.
But who knows what Ruger has in mind. Marlin could end up being a firearms accessories brand for all we know.
I will throw one in a friend of mine did. He had a old Grendel p12 .380 pistol. If you know anything about those guns, you know that the hammer spring is a flawed design and they are no longer available. It is a flat ‘clockwork’ spring. So he goes to a local place that repairs old clocks. They...
I had a FIE 25 acp pistol that I got as boot on a trade. The second round that I ever fired through it bent the firing pin. I ended up bending the firing pin back as close as I could and chucking it into a drill and spinning it against a piece of sandpaper till it was true.
The funny thing about...
No kabooms, but I witnessed a Jennings 9 go full auto. (firing pin stuck)
The back story. My brother in law bought it out of a pawn shop when he was in college and delivering pizza. This was probably 1997. It was his first gun. He knew then that it wasn’t a great gun, but it served the purpose...
As I understand it, the shortage of ammunition is being driven by a shortage of primers. Tulammo makes their own primers, so the 7.62x39 is available when most other things are gone.
It depends on the kid. Period.
I don’t have any kids, but I do have a bunch of nieces and nephews. A couple of them I would have had no problem teaching the basics of defense at 11 or 12 years old. A couple of them, I don’t know that I would ever try more than basic gun safety at any age.
Back before I discovered armslist I used Craigslist. My normal thing was to list the holster for the gun I was selling. Several local people were doing the same thing. So you would just go on Craigslist and search for holsters. After armslist that pretty much stopped. I could see it making a...
RG 14 22lr revolver. Got it as boot on a trade, and owned it for over a year thinking it was a single action only. Double action required two fingers. I ended up giving it to my old high school coach who used it as a starter pistol
