    It's Wheelgun Wednesday

I have carried a lowly 22 mag as my primary carry gun before! Agast! Yet I live. I usually prefer a wheel gun with a cartridge that starts with 4, but sometimes right in the middle is nice... 357

    EAA bounty hunter 44 mag

Yeah, my wife's cousin shot a blacktail buck that field dressed at 275 lbs. Most top out at around 200, but they do get big. I've seen several black bears north of 500 lbs in the Olympics and cascades, and some of our elk can easily top 1000lbs. There are a few toothy critters that get big up...

    EAA bounty hunter 44 mag

44 mag is great on game. I think I'm up to ten deer with my redhawk, a 240 or 300 grn. puts them down. Longest shot was 70 yards so far, closest was 8 feet. Only had two go anywhere, most just give up after getting drilled with a 44 slug.

    Free bullet molds

Good move! I always try to pass on freebies or cheap deals. Lord knows I've been blessed enough with good deals, so why not share? Sounds like your buddy can put them to use once he's feeling better.

New Blue Python - GOT ONE

Well, I shot it out of time, it was misfiring on two cylinders consistently, and I stupidly traded it away instead of fixing it.. I probably put 8 or 9k rounds through it, but 7k was when the problems started. It was used before I got it, but not much. It was so accurate you could shoot...

New Blue Python - GOT ONE

It was an 89 or 90 production year if I recall, but had the nicest finish I ever saw on a newer s&w. And I oiled it almost daily. The blue was so deep you could swim in it, but it was really dark and not colt cobalt blue...

Very strange experience, and a nice S&W.

Wow, I want one of those lanyard rings! What a nice revolver. A 4" model 10 is something special, weather a tapered or bull barrel, they just work.

New Blue Python - GOT ONE

That is one sweet revolver Mark_Mark. My s&w 29 was very similar in configuration and finish quality. I loved it. Never owned a colt, but I can definitely appreciate the desire...

454 the most versatile 45 caliber

If your cast are sized correctly you should be fine up to 240 grn, but my r92 in 44 mag didn't like any of the loads I wanted to shoot in it. I traded it for a sandrail project instead of figuring it out. Kinda regret letting it get away.

Do you like the 7.5" barrel?

My 5" cosmetically challenged sbh started life as a 7.5", and I almost didn't cut it down due to making the mistake of shooting it first. It was such a sweet shooter. Luckily it still is after whacking the barrel off and re attaching the sight. But another 7.5" sbh is on my list to keep my 7.5"...

Do you like the 7.5" barrel?

No not really, but I have found a few jewels in there. BTW, that revolver is MINE! STAY AWAY! Just kidding, but I do want it... To the op: I like 7.5" guns, single or double action, but you want to find a good holster that fits you to carry it in. I usually cross draw carry longer guns...

    Lee 9mm Shellholder

A few of the Lee shell holders aren't a good fit, so I replaced them with rcbs, and in one situation, a Hornaday.

    I’ve got 99 cases…

Every time I start up a new cartridge to reload for, I build a dummy cartridge. So I have lots of 99rnd boxes of loaded ammo. Got to stay calm. I keep a sleeve of primers with the extra, or I load a small group with odd projectiles(cast or otherwise) different powder combo, etc just to try out...

    Who needs 357 Dainty?

Isn't 44 kind of the bottom end of big bore cartridges?... the 44 mag s&w 29 was my first revolver, and I wore it out never understanding why anyone would want a lesser 357 "baby magnum". It took 20 more years before I finally took a serious look at 357, and mostly to widen the playing field of...

    Mossberg Shockwave (firearm) does it...?

Man, I need to watch what I type... aow is what I meant. As to the other question, I asked the attorney that put together my gun trust and his opinion was that concealed on the body would make the weapon, by default of definition, a concealable firearm, which an "other weapon" (not "aow") Is...

    Mossberg Shockwave (firearm) does it...?

As I understand it, if you conceal it it can legally be prosecuted as an unregistered short barreled shotgun. But it has to be intentionally concealed. I am not a judge or an attorney though, so my opinion is worth what you paid for it....

    358 Winchester 444 marlin or 45/70?

For deer I would usually pick the 35 cal for a little flatter trajectory. All will kill a lot bigger game than deer, and I appreciate all three. My 35 cal is a 35 Whelen loaded right about 358 win velocity, and I have a 45-70 running a 350 grain bullet about 1700fps. It drops more than the...

    Homespun .22 Hornet SS Carbine

That's pretty cool, I've always wondered what a short mannlicher stock setup would look like. Love the barrel cap! Looks like a fun little walking varminter.

Hera Arms H6 folding stock bolt action rifle

I don't know if I like it.... I kinda like the stock, but the side mag would make it mighty hard to carry at high ready or even in most field positions. Not sure on this one.
