Reloading 6.5CM for Ruger Precision Rifle

Was on the hunt for local scope cap and stumbled across a R.P.R. in 6.5 Creedmoor (for the wife;)). After getting it home and reading the manual I started looking at bullets and powders online. When it came time to order reloading supplies google search was helpful in purchasing dies, brass, and...

Charge recommendations for new powder (imr4895)

Ordered a Stainless 20" 1:11 5P rifled barrel with a .875 rifle length gas. Adjustable gas blocks around .875" aren't easy to find. Know of any manufacturers or websights besides superlative (bypass designs)?

The scope had always been left at 9x but when snapping in the magnification was backed off to 3x. When rotating "the ring" noticed the reticle would shift within the scope. Thought the eyes might be getting shifty so strapped the rifle down and used the phone camera to confirm (pro) don't need...

Estimated velocity by comparing actual drop measurement with jbm drop table in inches. Used 100yrd zero then measured drop at 300, 500 and, 800 yards. Adjusted the velocity in JBM until the drop table matched actual drop measurements. Then used the chronograph to measure bullet to bullet...

Got a little carried away with the scale... and sorted 100 primers individualy into weight groups. The group sizes are calcilated by a median/average. Measured 10 groups of 5 shots. Took out the largest and smallest groups. And, added the group sizes together then divided by 8 for the remaining...

Charge recommendations for new powder (imr4895)

The cleaning rod and a make shift dead-blow trick. Luckily, I've only seen it performed. Similar to the disappearing pencil from batman. It just looks wrong and everyones quiet while they watch it happen. Anyway, great recommendation. And to answer ArchAngelCD, I'd double down on what Slamfire...

Yes 308win haha, good catch. Can't believe all that was left out. It's a "semi gas-gun" (dodging the "Alpha Romeo" designation). It has an 18" tube, sporting 6R, twisted 1:10 and, made from the 416r veriety. Reason for confusion: Google reads IMR's 4064 and 4895 burn rates around 5% of each...

Can steel body armor stop armor piercing 7.62x51mm?

Well put, I stand corrected. The penetrate rating of armor will determine if 7.62 AP will pass through. Even an API might not penetrate an armor rated high enough. However the majority of chest plates (SAPI), issued to military personnel until replaced by more protective ESAPI then XSAPI...

Can steel body armor stop armor piercing 7.62x51mm?

7.62x51 AP WILL penetrate steel and sapi plate armor. The black tip is for designation purposes. Some folk paint the tips of munitions without tungsten, steel or, other piercing cores for the cool factor and then sell or trade them off. .308 AP ammo is more than capable to penetrate various...

Why aren't we better using facts to counter the Antis' arguments?

Maybe the answer isn't to change the minds of those who have withered their rights through emotional persistence but, to educate the future generations of there rights and the way things should be. If you consider gun legislation to be similar to others you'd see a trend. Ask an older person is...

    Who donates to the NRA?

There was once a time when the NRA was partially devoted to ensuring the leaders of this country would never consider violating the second. It just wasn't on option and they would never let it come to that. Now the police chiefs, college presidents, states in defiance and, all in between have to...

Do you let people borrow guns?

Most people only see the negative side of loaning out a firearm. If you loan out a gun to someone trained to use because there's is temporarily out for servicing and that person saves the lives of others with it, you just made an investment in human life. Team work makes the dream work. Don't...
