    Dear RCBS,

Nope. RCBS has a unique end to bump the tube and activate the priming rod. Very true. A simple bend in the hand upwards would be a massive improvement as well. I use both the IF risers and the flush mount, so it's not so much an issue for me, but I could see using it flush would be benefited...

    Dear RCBS,

I know it's an added cost, but it makes your product 1,000,000 times more enjoyable to use. Chuck that handle up in the lathe and cut a thread path in there for a knob of sorts.... Or if you want to remind yourself that primers are now more valuable than an 8 ball of cocaine...

Brass: Match Factory vs. Non-"Match". Is there a difference in brass?

For grins, I sent Winchester the same question, and got essentially the same answer.

Brass: Match Factory vs. Non-"Match". Is there a difference in brass?

I had another issue that warranted a call to Hornady, so I double tapped with this question as well. Straight from the source: They do not manufacture "Match" brass and then "everything else" brass. "Match" Ammo vs. American Gunner Ammo, vs. Hunter Ammo..... the brass comes off the same...

Brass: Match Factory vs. Non-"Match". Is there a difference in brass?

I can imagine this wormhole has probably been beaten to death but I can't seem to find any specific reference on it. My question is: Is the factory brass case used in say Hornady "Match" brass, versus their American Gunner line of ammo the same brass case? Is the brass case in the Winchester...

    Hornday 6.5mm 140 ELD M Bullet Jump

Thanks. I've seen those, and familiar with Eric's reloading methods. My question was more specific to anyone on this forum having success jumping the Hornady eldm's out past 90 or 100 thousands.

    Hornday 6.5mm 140 ELD M Bullet Jump

I've been tinkering around with a load for my PRS rifle to come up with a pretty basic, reliable and consistent off the shelf / low brain damage "go to" load. In that process, I've got to what I think I'll stick with, but (as with all things perhaps) I started pondering bullet jump a little more...

School of Thought on Velocity Nodes. Fast or Slow?

Two potentials. Kinda wish I had loaded a couple to get data just above 41.5 as I didn't see anything with regards to pressure signs. I'd be happy with the mid 2700's fps if that shoots / groups well with respectable SD/ES numbers.

School of Thought on Velocity Nodes. Fast or Slow?

Yep, did just that and found another couple options in the 2750 fps neighborhood.

School of Thought on Velocity Nodes. Fast or Slow?

Target. PRS shooting / "go to" load. Mid-range to longer range 1000ish yards.

School of Thought on Velocity Nodes. Fast or Slow?

Velocity being paramount to accuracy at distance.

School of Thought on Velocity Nodes. Fast or Slow?

These would be for target loads. Satterlee's method skins the cat a little different in that you establish velocity, then hone in on accuracy. Vaughn puts it to the coals. Scott explains it here: Some love it, some hate it. I'm not married to it, but having fun and learning a bit...

School of Thought on Velocity Nodes. Fast or Slow?

What's the school of thought on picking a velocity node when doing a load workup and finding multiple nodes? OCW method or others; I'm tinkering around with Following Scott Satterlee's method of 10 shots (or more for example, say 20 shots) and say for example you find nodes (plateaus) at lower...

Load development with newer barrel still speeding up?

Is there a thought process or rule of thumb about working up a load with a newer barrel (100ish rounds) that is still showing signs of speeding up? From what I'm reading on this barrel (Howa) it may continue to do so for another 100 or so rounds. Bad idea to work up a load or two before it...

    Do you lock up components?

I have [had] younger children so I got in the habit of having components in a locked cabinet and away from curious booger hooks. They're teens now, so not much a worry in that regard. If however you successfully get past the guns, dogs, alarm system, home perimeter, etc., I'll help you load what...

    Digital Scale Gets Less Accurate

I turn scales and power dispensers on an hour before I start pouring powder. If they sway from there, somethings wrong. Bad power source, fluorescent lights, or faulty load cell in the scale / failing scale.

    Factory second bullets...

My kids gotta eat, and I don't hate money. I love the seconds for range time, plunking, gas guns, etc. Match / Precision / Bench, I stick with the high dollar slugs.

Factory Ammo to Reload - Pick One

Yep, the more I went around in my head about this, trying to save a few bucks only to make my workflow more complex with another 65cm headstamp to sort and track didn't make sense. Cry once. Picked up a couple cases at SGAmmo for 1.30 a round. Thanks all for the input.

Factory Ammo to Reload - Pick One

Yep.... Been there done that, got that T-Shirt... Until you come home mistakenly with Brian's brass..... :(

Factory Ammo to Reload - Pick One

Yep. I've been on a pretty steady diet of Berger 140's as well the Hornady pills, so very familiar with them. This was an option I hadn't considered although quite different from my original idea on bringing in new brass.
