I am looking for a commander size 1911 and I am trying to decide between a S&W or a Sig Sauer Fastback Carry. Anyone have experience with both? Price aside which would you prefer and why?
I have really narrowed it down to these 2 scopes listed above. I don't want to spend a ton of money on it and I think these may be my best choices. I have a Stevens .270 Win. that it is going on. The Nikon has the BDC reticle and the Burris has the Ballistiplex reticle (if it matters). Both are...
I recently bought a Stevens 200 in .270 Win. I am wanting to add a scope without getting too crazy in price. I am leaning toward a Burris Fulfield II in 3-9X40. I believe it is a 1" tube on that scope. I am wanting to of course add rings and a base/bases. Again I am leaning toward Burris but can...
"I hike frequently in black bear territory"
That statement makes me lean toward something in the larger/more powerful calibers such as .357/10mm and up if that is a primary concern.
My 3913 EDC
I carry mine in either a Alessi Talon II or a Kramer IWB holster. It also feeds the 147 gr. Federal HST with no problems so that is what I carry in it.
Just some quick ones I snapped tonight. Nothing scientific. Keep in mind the S&W has Houge rubber grips on it which make for a bit thicker grip than the plastic ones. Overall length is very similar as well as height. The grip on the PPS is definitely slimmer and the overall thickness is also a...
Well for those interested I will take some photos of both tomorrow evening and post them for size comparison. I think I am going to stick with my 3913 for many of the reasons mentioned here. I have several holsters and extra mags for each of them so I am really not giving up anything one way or...
Just looking for opinions. I have both of these pistols and both are excellent ccw guns. Both are 9mm, conceal well, and function great. I shoot both equally well. If you were going to choose only one which would you keep for your every day carry gun? Which one do you think is better built?
Well I am not partial to PMC ammo but it is what they had at the range when I needed some that day. I typically use WWB for target practice. As a general rule I tend to run my guns a bit on the "wet" side. I clean and lube with CLP and use a bit of white Wilson Combat grease on the rails. That's...
I am a long time shooter so let me first say this problem is not operator error. I recently bought a new HK USP compact in 9mm. I took it to the range for the first time this weekend and had a failure to eject on about every 2 or 3 rounds. The spent cases were more or less "stovepiping". The gun...
I don't think you can ship it because if you do I believe it has to go to an FFL here in TX and then back to one in NY. I have traveled to other states and sent my gun via checked baggage on the airline several times. As stated you have to declare it and follow the procedures but it is really...
Ahhh.... that was you I saw at Elm Fork this past Saturday. I was out there shooting with my brother and his wife. Got there about the time you were leaving I think. When is the next one in Dallas and I will try to make it.
