Read it this morning, and having read many, many USSC opinions what really struck me was the language Scalia used. "Justice Stevens is dead wrong", "Justice Stevens has a grave misunderstanding regarding the role of a court..."
In legalese that's smackdown talk, none of the usual "my esteemed...
I've reloaded many 100's of Wolf .223 once-fired cases, as have many other people. When I'm in a situation where I'm not going to be able to recover my brass I use them, as .223 brass (used) is now going for a dime a case around here, hate to think what new is. They work fine, aren't any...
Wolf recommends using their magnum small rifle primers for .223 if it's to be used in an AR. The reason is not for the extra fire, they say it's the same, the difference is that their magnum primers use a harder primer cup and are less susceptible to a slam fire.
Are you aware of "Reloader's Reference"? A huge database, available for free as a Sourceforge project.

Just another vote for a primer pocket uniformer. I've got one that fits in my cordless drill. When I'm loading .223 it sits on my left leg. I grab a piece of brass and hit the primer pocket with the tool for a couple of seconds, then into the press. Leaves the bottom of the pocket clean and...
I shot up an 8 pound jug of it a couple of years ago, it's a nice powder, but have given it up in favor of Clays since almost all my shooting is cast lead bullets and the Clays seems to cause less leading and is very clean.
I load rifle rounds on a Hornady LNL AP, but you don't do it all in one step like pistol ammo. Size and deprime all your brass in one run, then trim, finally run through again to drop powder, seat bullet and crimp if desired.
The Dillon 1050 can do it all in one pass for another $1200 or so...
I have small hands and can't shoot a Glock due to the bulky grips. My finger barely reaches the trigger.
Is the M&P noticeably better in this regard? If so, I'd be interested in one.
I picked one up a few years ago real cheap at a pawn shop. It doesn't have the finish of the Browning, but it functions just fine, I wouldn't be afraid to use it as a carry gun.
A few weeks ago I stripped it down, used fine emery paper to refinish the surface and remove the tool marks then...
Your LNL AP will resize .223 just fine if you lube the cases as you should, it has as much or more leverage than most all of the single stage presses. I've resized many thousands of .223s in mine. The trick is getting a good lube.
I used to use the Hornady one-shot, worked so so and...
My daughter is 5'0" tall and has very small hands. She carries a Kimber ProCarry that I put a short trigger in along with slim grips, or a Kahr PM9, they both fit her very well. Even a J frame has too long of trigger reach for her to give you an idea.
I carry a Browning HiPower in .40...
It's not that the Sig is so "bad", it's just that there is such good competition out there.
I bought a Buckmark a while back, last trip to the range my daughter and I were picking off empty shotgun hulls at 20 yards and hitting them pretty consistently using Federal bulk ammo.
Accurate...
Since the OP mentioned he wasn't able to get the primer out, and no one else mentioned this, make sure they're not Berdan primed. Shine a light down the case so you can see the flash hole and make sure there's only one, and not two, or you'll never get that primer out.
I NEVER try to pick up 9mm brass, and yet I have 3 5-gallon buckets full of it. It just seems to magically appear when I'm picking up other brass.
Brass has been pretty thin at the range the last year or so, more scroungers and more reloaders. If you want brass look for a scheduled IPSC...
I've been loading on a LNL progressive for a few years and just found a Hornady LNL single-stage press for a song at a sale so grabbed it. I do have to change the settings between the two presses, the cartridges go futher into the dies on the single stage than on the progressive.
If you have...
Just went through the same process, and after a lot of research decided either a Ruger or a Buckmark would be the best choice. Went to a gunshow and held them, the Buckmark fit my hand much better than the Ruger, so bought one and am very, very happy with it.
Any of the listed pistols will...
I was lucky enough to stock up on those a year or so ago when they were cheap and they've been shooting about 2 MOA for me, or 2" groups at 100 yards, more than good enough for training purposes.
Those were with 25 grains of 2230C surplus powder, honestly never tried to experiment with loads...
I have a HiPower with the Cylinder & Slide SFS safety system in it that has the best trigger of any gun I have, even better than the 1911's. The Cylinder & Slide mod replaces some of the trigger group parts and allows you to carry cocked but hammer down, it's nice for a carry gun and makes for...
