    NAA Guardians

No reply was intended to be 'snarky', but its unlikely that the shape of your pistol and/or your hand can be changed. You have a firearm that was intended for close quarters self protection. I like my NAA. So far, it has been reliable. .32 Ball and Buffalo Bore .32 ACP works just dandy...

    Lefever 12 SXS 2 1/2' CHAMBER

DS Grade, heavy use, tight lockup, 2 1/2" chamber. The folded star crimp of a 2 3/4 paper shell when fired in this shorter chamber wll have partially opened into 2 1/2' chamber. Is it a big no-no to use2 3/4' field grade shotshells in a 2 1/2' chamber? I have fired a few vintage 2 3/4...

    45acp overall length question

f100s thumb nail gauge has worked just dandy with the H&G 130 and H&G 68. The loaded 68 measures about the same length as GI Ball. The H&g 130 measures about 1.160.

    Is Federal 9BPLE 9mm 115gr +P+ JHP a viable defensive load anymore?

9BP and 9BPLE The Federal 9BP and 9BPLE has fed, fired, and ejected through any 9X19 that I have tried. No glitches, burps, or hang-ups. Star BM, 228, Colts, Kahrs, BHPs, & ?. There hasn't been any reasonable excuse to try to find anything 'newer and better'. There was a brief...

    Kahr PM9 - alternatives, accessories

Sig, Colt, Star, BHP, and Kahr and Federal 9BP/9BPLE Maybe I should have bought a Lottery Ticket during this time, but with that ammunition and those pistols, none of those ever failed to feed, fire, extract, and eject. None required a 'break in' period. salty

High Standard, like other mfgrs have had some good times and some not so good. At one time there was a 'High Standard Forum'. If its still there, you might find more specific information regarding variable corporate Ownership focus, different mfg locations, and QC issues. My current HS...

    Revolver for female concealed carry?

Accessable Just a suggestion, but it'd seem that access, especially on body access for a lady and lady wardrobe challenges would trump any round gun vs flat gun decision salty

Kahr CW 9, any known problems

Dawson Precision makes a dandy front sight for the Kahr dovetail. Old style or New style. The front is steel and is a tritium vial insert surrounded by a white circular ring. Easily seen in dim as well as bright light contrast. Waaay better and more versatile (read visible), at least for...

The most dangerous alteration you've seen?

Sheltered life About the silliest thing that I have personally had my hands on was a .38 'belly gun' that had had the hammer spur 'bobbed'. If you really worked at it, one could, with difficulty cock the abbreviated hammer to the single action position. After that, the only way to uncock was...

Kahr compact 9mms (K9 etc): likes, dislikes?

Thanks Ben What I said regarding the replacement tritium sights were what I was told verbally a/o via keybard by Kahr a/o the AO company. If in-stock supplies have changed, I wasn't aware. Thanks for the update. salty

Kahr compact 9mms (K9 etc): likes, dislikes?

Post 27 and 29. Didn't know the sights could be re-lamped in their original housing. Thanks. Dawson Precision, like EGW, makes good stuff. It never occured to me to think of them as an alternative source for old or new night sight sets for a Kahr handgun. Thanks. salty.

Kahr compact 9mms (K9 etc): likes, dislikes?

Kahr factory 'Nite Sights', no replacements available? My Kahr K9 was made in '96. The P9 a few years later. The factory dovetail cut has changed since then. K9 front sight globe has disapeared. Rear sight globes are waay dim. Kahr offers no replacements. P9 AO globes are still...

There are also shoots that involve anvils and pumpkins. It'd be iteresting just how THE Government would define those contraptions. salty

What is the most useless handgun design?

If what is left of my memory cells recall correctly, ... I seem to remember reading and seeing images where WW2 German technology offered, to a select few, a spring loaded belt buckle that hid, and when released opened and fired, hands free, a pistol round. Maybe the SS Officer Corps didn't...
