Ruger M77/44 or Ruger Gunsight Scout in 450bm
I'm struggling. I've always wanted a M77/44 but then Ruger went and threw a wrench into the plan and made the GSS in a 450bm. I dearly love the GSS platform, I have the .308 now.
That's probably what I will end up doing. But I really like that Gunsight Scout though, love my GSS in 308, it's a swiss army knife. I use the XS rail with Leupold quick release mounts. I can change that rifle from a 500yrd field rifle to a brush gun in seconds, tip off the scope, swap out my...
And while searching for a Ruger American Ranch, I found a Gunsight Scout in 450bm
So that's a game changer for me since I have Gunsight in .308 and it's my favorite mountain/field deer rifle. Unfortunately I cant use it on this hunt lease.
So for a couple hundred more than the M77/44 I could...
This was a M77/44 vs Ruger American Ranch 300blk vs Ruger American Ranch 450bm
Which would you pick for woods deer hunting?
Currently Gallery of Guns is out of both Ruger American Ranch rifles
I didn't mention, I have a Marlin 1894 44mag but want a bolt action w/optics as a option to hunt with. I'm of the thinking that scopes are not meant for lever guns.
Yes that's a whole different debate!
But I currently own five 44mag firearms and load that caliber a lot. But I'm not opposed to...
Yes, but due to the short range of the 300blk, its allowed. Bottleneck center fire is legal in the county the hunt club is in so these are club rules, not state game law rules.
Help me decide!
I'm a member of a hunt club that only allows straight wall rifle cartridges, including 300blk, for deer.
I already reload 44mag, and the M77/44 is an expensive rifle. It's also a rifle I've always wanted!
For half the price of the M77/44 I can get the Ruger American Ranch...
Let me start out by saying this is my first 1911 and my first Kimber. My neighbor bought this gun a few weeks ago and couldn't get it to cycle. I bought it from him for half what he paid for it, only 100 rounds through it.
I cleaned it, bought 400 rounds of cheap Winchester white box 230g ball...
My effective hunting range will be 50 yards or less, further than that, I'm a spectator with this gun. I practice at 100yrds and with the stock barrel and 180g coated lead I can ring a 12" steel plate about 60% of the time.
The difference in price from a stock length barrel and extended barrel...
When I carry it, I plan on using the stock barrel. For hunting I plan on a extended barrel. I did find a open carry holster that will work with both barrels.
So the extended barrel is more for looks than function?
Will I see any increase in accuracy with the longer barrel? Sight radius remains the same since the barrel protrudes past the slide.
This is all new to me.
I just bought my first Glock after 42 years as a gun owner. Its a 20gen4. I've always been a Ruger Revolver guy. I thought I would change things up a bit.
I purchased this pistol as a woods carry, possible short range deer gun. I'm a reloader and I know the stock Glock gen4 barrel is fine for...
How can I find a .357sig conversion barrel for the G20? Lonewolf use to make one but its no longer listed on their website. They list a .40 S&W conversion but nothing else.
