    Reflex sights "zero" distance.

Good grief! For the critics yes reflex sights do work for trap or wingshooting, users report it is actually easier to pick up the target using one. A simple google search. or a look at You Tube will show that. Prime example the Burris Speedbead. For those who chose to attack me personally...

    Reflex sights "zero" distance.

It'll be a different thread for a different day but short story am putting a reflex sight (Burris Fastfire) on my shotgun as a simple way of adjusting to new realities. The question for those of you who have done it for trapshooting or wing hunting (pheasants) is at what distance do you set...

    CZ guide rod.

Hi, I just purchased a CZ PCR and have seen several mentions of replacing the factory guide rod with a steel rod. Is this a something one would order from CZ or is it aavailable at places like Numrich, Midway, etc. ?

    CZ 75 Compact Availability

If you are anywhere close to a Scheels store you may be in luck.. While I had never seen a PCR in stock I inquired about one last Saturday and struck a deal to order one. The next Monday I received a call saying it was in store.. Yes two days! It was $579 but given that I had not seen...

Old dogs, new tricks, and cross dominance.

I've seen pics of the bent stocks. Hot oil and bending hardwood? Sounds like another trip to the Dr. :o) JK I've ordered a set of offset scope mounts to see how that may work. Imperfect yes but for the ranges I'm comfortable shooting at (For whitetail) and especially in shorter ranges...

Old dogs, new tricks, and cross dominance.

Thanks Bersaguy. My uncles guns had the stock modified by carving some wood away allowing him to lean his head far enough over to use standard sights and scope mounting with his left eye. it worked well and "normal" shooters could use them just as well.

Old dogs, new tricks, and cross dominance.

Hi Getting old Ain't for sissies.... I'm cross dominant right handed left eyed as such I simply learned very young to shoot left handed. (with great success) Thanks to age and medical reasons I'm going to attempt a transition from left handed shooting to right handed left eyed. I've...

Dick’s will destroy assault-style guns it yanked off shelves

In the regional area that I live one would be hard pressed to find a poorer option than Dicks, better prices and selection abound. Perhaps for some the convenience of being in a mall is to keep the location open, but after wandering in a couple times to check prices against my purchases at...

    Differences in CZ compacts

I'm really liking the way the CZ "fits" me. Sure they are are fundamentaly the same gun but there are differences in the CZ steel frame compact, the P-01 and the PCR. I like the PCR but there is a real price difference between that and the Steel and I'm really don't see myself adding a...

    Someone's Going Broke...

I would be interested in knowing what the plan is for disposing of the ammo they buy. Are they planning on turning it over to the city Police Dept. or Sheriffs office and if so do they know about this? Some random guy walking into headquarters and saying "Here's 10,000 rounds of ammo I...

    Rock Island & Citadel

Talking about the 1911 clones, Ok they are both made be Armscor But what are the differences if any in the two brands? Is one made from rusted Chevy's and the other from recycled Army tanks? Are some features altered between the two? Just curious, I have been thinking about getting a...

    arthritis and the brand

Ok I'm currently in the market for a vehicle/concealed carry piece probably in 9mm and after browsing and reading I'm thinking of a Sig 938 or CZ 75 compact The threads here are as expected pretty evenly divided, very valid points on either side. What I have not seen and one of the issues...

Is there a way to make birdshot useful for defense?

I have to say I'm with saddlebag preacher on this, would bird shot be my first choice? No. But at typical self defense distances..... If you would like to volunteer to prove me wrong, Well I'll wait for the You tube video.... Maybe you can compare 9 shot dove loads and 5 shot turkey or...

    Random musings.

Picked up a SAR B6P 9mm at an estate auction yesterday. Grabbed a box of Blazer brass FMJ and headed to the range. Paper target 7yds first shot, dead center bullseye.............. Damn! I will never shoot that gun any better than I did with the very first shot.:( Do I sell...

What cartridges/calibers are you not fond of and why?

Well I can't say I'm a fan of the 25acp but just for ease of carry its a good one to have and shoot your friend in the knee with when moma bear charges....:neener: :what::what:

What to do with it all?

My one experience with this was with the widow of a gun collector/hunter. She had a trusted friend appraise and make a list of all guns and their estimated value. As a friend I was given a copy of the list and told that whomever I would trust with the information she would trust as being safe...
