Retirement: Shooting more, less, or the same as pre-retirement?

I have been retired one year, and I shoot a lot more than when I worked because of more free time. I joined a outdoor range with a yearly fee, I could shoot every day if I wanted. I try to go once a week, in the last year I have only missed 6 or 8 weeks when I have been to busy with yard work...

Your best shot with a handgun intentional or not

My amazing shots occurred over 40 years ago while I was building our first house. After a long days work we, family members, knocked off for the day. As everyone left I decided to stick around and clean up the job site. I loaded scrap lumber in my truck and drove it 75 yards to the back of the...

    Polycase ARX Bullets

Sorry I did not answer, have been busy lately and not been online. Here is some data from the company. I loaded Titegroup powder, but had to load max loads to get some of my 9 MM handguns to cycle. I load standard 9MM not +p. https://www.inceptorammo.com/load-data/

A question for the automated progressive guys

I keep a old tooth brush beside my press while loading. When I notice any debris build up a quick swipe cleans it off.

How to clean USGI pull down bullets?

A couple of years ago I ordered 1000 pulled .224 55 gr FMJ. They where a little tarnished and had the black sealer residue on them. I put them in a container with some lacquer thinner, agitated it, and it took about 30 seconds for the tar to come off. I loaded them as is and they shot great.

The Rise (and Fall?) of The Hollow Point....

I have been loading some of the Inceptor 9mm 65 gr. bullets. So far I am impressed with the accuracy, I do not know how lethal they are but I know I do not want to be shot with one. One area where they offer an advantage is weight savings. Saving 60 grains over a 125 grain 9mm bullet, a 16 round...

    Dillon support

My 20 year old 550B, after several tens of thousands of rounds, had developed a lot of slop in the lower link arms, crank area. I called Dillon around the first of January this year and they sent me a return number. I had to pay shipping, I believe it was $40 something, and they said turn around...

    Midway shipping ++

I always get fast shipping with Midway, except when they use FedEx Sure Post. The best deal I ever got with Midway free shipping was a couple of months ago I received a email for the grade 3 50 cal ammo cans half price-$5 each. They had $49 free shipping so I put 10 cans in the cart, thinking...

March-May 2020 Your defense carry handgun 10 shot challenge

RodII Class 2 86-1X Sig P230 105 gr. Gallant TFP, WW small pistol primers, 2.4 grs. Bullseye After posting this I noticed I had used the wrong target, but I had bought a 100 pack of these and they are what I had. My score would have been better with the correct target:cuss: My score could...

Set up primer depth Dillon 550

I have been loading on a 550 for 20 years, there is no adjustment for seating depth. A few times I have had a slightly high primer, I believe it is a occasional tight primer pocket. I seat my primers with a firm but not excessive force.

    Ruger EC9s

I have the LC9s Pro and I bought it for its slim, small size and being a 9mm. It is accurate, and the recoil is to be expected. I get a sore trigger finger if I shoot it several rounds, the trigger safety lever and me have issues. I thought about a Sig 365, but decided the Ruger was all I needed.

    CZ 75/ CZ 75c trigger

I have a 75B, a Cold War Commemorative, and it had the worst trigger of any semi auto I own, with the exception of a original Ruger LCP. It was gritty, a lot of creep, and cammed the hammer back as the trigger was pulled. You could see the hammer hooks and sear looking over the hammer and see...

Check Weights for smaller beam scales?

I use a 55 gr. Berger match bullet to check my scale, rarely. My Redding scale has no adjustments on it, just put everything on zero and use the base leveling screw to put the pointer on zero.

    1911 recomendation and experiences

I have 1911's from 5 manufacturer currently, for me the best bang for the buck is Les Baer. If I had to sell them off the 3 Baer's would be the last to go, the very last would be the 45 Stinger. I have a Alchemy Custom on order, and without it even have been built, I am sure it will be...

Who has completed their Gun Collection? - No more guns to buy

I have on order a Alchemy Custom Weaponry Prime Elite in 45 ACP with his <1" @ 25 yard guarantee. I ordered the blue finish with ball cuts, the only changes I will make is to add a set of G10 grips, either VZ or Lok. I have plenty of holsters, magazines and ammo loaded.

    My first Freedom Arms revolver.

As has been said, watch GunBroker and gun forums and you can luck into some good deals. I bought my 2 Freedom Arms, a 6" 454 model 83 field grade and a model 97 5 1/2" 44 Special in 2010 when gun sales where slow off gun forums. The 44 was as new, the 454 the owner said it had 200 rounds of 45...

    Reloading Sites

Most of the powder companies, Alliant, Hodgdon, Accurate, as well as bullet manufactures have free online data. I use the Alliant and Hodgdon data a lot. I have several manuals going back to the 1970's , will probably never buy another manual. Speer has a lot of free...

Bersa Thunder .380 Plus review, shooting report, pics, and video

When I bought mine I got the Combat Plus, they have better sights, smaller beavertail and Bersa says a lower profile slide. The mag safety and key lock I could do without, but it is what it is. Mine is very accurate and fun to shoot, and it makes a good carry piece. I got mine on GunBroker, it...
