Hello All, It is good to see a Highroad upgrade. If it burns powder it is interesting and worthy of being fired. FS

Ruger American Pro Compact and the Larger Ruger American shoot very well. Bought the American(s) and a pile of ammo for practice. No SIG for me, thanks.

WTB .284, 120 or 139-40 grain, flat nosed or round nosed bullets suitable for use in an M94 7-30 Waters. Might anyone have some gathering dust that need to be put to use? Heck Barns TTSX 110s without the poly-tip would be good. Or does anyone know of a boutique manufacturer with a .284...

    Chinese Shotguns--any good?

Here's one possibly worth reading: Does the inexpensive availability of Win 1897, Rem 870, Ithaca 37, or 1911 over-ride the intellectual property and labor problems associated with the purchase of these firearms? http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=67714

If you could have only one O/U shotgun, what would it be?

Why, If I could have only one gun was the question, I am sure that it would fit and last, and I'd not feel quite as guilty as if I were taking a Kreighoff in to the marsh.... Weight--it weighs no more than my 1100 Magnum Duck Gun--no problem. Shells--I am sure that they would do a 3"...

    Guns vs. Knives

Tonight my daughter's martial arts instructor was telling me how with a knife he could kill me before I could bring a gun on target and terminate the threat--offering that from 21 feet, I could not draw and fire fast enough to stop him. I am able to draw and put two shot on target in under...

Somebody uses .44 Magnum for defence?

I have an S&W 629 Mountain Gun in 44 Magnum as a "carry piece" when I am in the woods or want more power w/o having to carry a 44 Marlin Guide Gun. It is a hand full, but with either factory 180 grain loads or with hand loaded 250 grain SWC at @ 1000 FPS it is potent and portable. The...

    Turkish V. Russian Shotguns??

I've handled both Russian and Turkish guns and purchased a Yildiz because when handled at the same time the Yildiz is lively and well balanced. The IZH 27 or Spartan is as you said--solid and handles like a 2x4.

    cost of 1100 receiver???

Clemson, That is about the right price--here, Houston, that gun would have had a 350-400 dollar price tag on it and only with a lot of negotiation would it have come down...I am not sure what drives 1100 prices in Houston, but it is a rare day to find one in line with Blue Book values...
