    CZ or P99?

I have a Walther P99 in 9mm. I like it ok, but shoot my 1911 much better, so I don't really shoot it all that much anymore. My wife has just gotten in to shooting, but doesn't really like the Walther too much. She says it kicks too much. i was thinking that an all metal gun would have less...

    Pediatrician nonsense

So my wife takes my 8 year old son to the doctor for his annual checkup, and when they get done, the doctor asks my son if there are any guns in the house. My son of course says yes, given that there are a bunch, and two of them are his. The doctor asks if he ever touches them, and my son...

    Speed strips

Would you guys have any problem carrying two Bianchi speed strips with .38 special +p in your back pocket? I can't think of any danger, but thought I'd ask just to make sure. I want the strips on my left side so the would be accessible with my weak hand, and since I will probably be pocket...

    Mossberg O/U

I have recently really strated liking over/under shotguns, and saw a Mossberg in Walmart for a really good price ($450). Is it worth the money, or should I spend a few hundred more on something else?

    Removing Scratches

I got a good discount on my new Springfield Armory 1911 because the only one left was the display model and it had several scratches. It's a stainless Champion. Is there any way I can get those buffed out? I put a pretty deep one in myself reassembling, and expect that it probably can't be...

    Here's my little arsenal

Another pic for you guys. In October of last year, all I had was the .25 cal pistol and a Winchester shotgun. Now I've got: Walther P22 .22LR Phoenix .25 cal S&W 340 PD .38 spl/.357 mag Walther P99 9mm Springfield Champion .45 cal And, I bought a Browning BL22 .22LR lever action...

    New Springfield!

I just added a 1911 to my collection. I got a Springfield Armory Champion. I'll be out at the range tomorrow to shoot. I am very excited. I also bought a nice Ross IWB leather holster, so this could become a carry gun for me.

    1911 Got Me!

I thought the Walther P99 in 9mm was a great gun for me, and that the S&W 340 PD revolver was my perfect carry gun. Until I went to the range with my father-in-law today and shot his 1911 and hit groups like I've never hit with my Walther (and obviously not with the snub revolver). So, now...

    S&W Lock

I have a S&W snubbie, and if I happened to undo the screws and open up the gun, would I see the internal lock right there? If so, would it be easy to remove something so that I won't have to worry about it engaging on me at the worst possible moment? Has anyone done this?

    Cleaning Revolver Chambers

I took the S&W 340PD out for the first time today. It was great! You can really feel the recoil, but no problem. It was ok once I got used to it. I came home right away to clean it, and I can get the barrel squeaky clean, but the chambers won't come clean. I've used 3 different cleaners, a...

What do you guys use to clean scandium

I have a S&W 340, and I don't want to harm the finish. Can I use Remington Brite Bore or Remington Bore Cleaner to clean this gun, or will that harm the finish. Anyone know? THanks.

    340 vs 642

I love these little J frames, and plan on getting one. I have a question, though. Why is the 340 so much more expensive than the 642? Is it just because the 340 can shoot .357 too?

    I've become a gun nut!

At this time last year, I had a Phoenix .25 caliber that was given to me by my father in law. Since then, I have acquired: 12ga Winchester 1300 410/.22LR Rossi combination .22 Walther P22 9mm Walther P99 .22LR Browning BL22 Concealed Handgun License I want to buy a Springfiled Ultra...

    What makes a 1911 a 1911?

I'm a newbie to the handgun world, and wonder what makes a 1911 a 1911? I can recognize the shape, but what else is there that is specific that sets them apart? Also, why are they so expensive compared to other types of guns in the same caliber? Thanks for the info.
