Drop in 9mm barrel for G22 question?

Extractors are pretty easy to swap in and out, but the ejector is frame mounted and a PITA. I've kept everything stock, but I should get the 9mm extractor as getting the case out of the chamber is the first step in the process. Shooting 9 in a .40 with stock ejector just means weak ejection, but...

    Ruger 380 ACP pistols

Ruger wanted to make their own Kel Tec mouse gun and chose the bigger caliber because that's what people gravitate towards, then they figured if everyone was doing a P365 style 9mm Ruger could do the same for the LCP and add capacity. The Security 380 was really out of nowhere, a medium frame...

Phase 2 and conclusions (vague) Comparing grapefruit to oranges/Plains Pistol.

Walker holds more shots tho, a trade off as always. I'm not surprised to hear the .54 has more power and does more damage, that's kind of assumed because of how big it is. I'm not much into muzzleloading rifles, but I've seen more talk about the .50 than .54 in those, so I assume they're more...

.32 Automatic in .32 S&W Long Top Breaks

I didn't want to put a bunch in that post, but there may be some .32 S&W Lg solid frames that are capable of doing .32 ACP as I've read some people have done it in the H&R revolvers made after WW2, the model 632/633 and 732/733. The claims that I read was those were overbuilt for the .32 Lg...

.32 Automatic in .32 S&W Long Top Breaks

.32 ACP is not safe to fire in any .32 top break revolver not just due to chamber pressure, but also because the guns were built to shoot lead bullets only. Trying to shove a jacketed bullet only adds to the damage it will do. The only revolvers that are able to handle .32 ACP are solid frames...

    I'm tapped out. But here's what I'd buy if I wasn't.

There's always something new that I've never thought of before that intrigues me, but I give it a few weeks to think it over to see if the interest is still there. The last thing that I almost got just on a whim was a Mauser .25 because I didn't know about them, asked on here about them, and got...

    I'm tapped out. But here's what I'd buy if I wasn't.

I would be down for an antique Colt M1892 so I can tweet to the FBI I bought it without their permission. There's a lot of old firearms I'd like to own from the 19th and turn of the 20th Century, but I'm never going to have enough time or money to do them all. The Colt is way down the list as...

I have some Taurus Judge questions

Years ago when I was thinking about which Judge to get I considered what the 3 inch .410 offered and it's more shot and one more pellet of 000 Buck. IDK what more shot can do when it's being spun like it is, but the extra pellet of 000 would not be a waste, however going from 4 to 5 pellets...

I have some Taurus Judge questions

I have thought about that, but I gain nothing from the inch longer barrel while the 6.5 inch barrel I believe overcomes some of the issues with the shallow rifling as it gives the bullet and gases more time. Inconsistent unburned powder is a recipe for inconsistent performance.

I have some Taurus Judge questions

I'm not asking about accuracy between the Judge and other revolvers, I'm asking about accuracy and performance between a long barrel Judge and a short barrel, one with an extra half inch of jump in the chamber. I do agree with others that the shorter barrel makes more sense as it's easier to...

I have some Taurus Judge questions

S&W DA .45's are $$$$$. Like, double what the Judge is and also heavy.

I have some Taurus Judge questions

I can say that the Judge PD I have has a nice trigger. A longer grip would help tho and all the non PD Judges have that.

I have some Taurus Judge questions

First off, if you want to bash how dumb the Judge is, keep moving, this isn't the thread for you. I want to focus on what is gained or lost using s longer barrel Judge. So, I have the Public Defender, it's fine, but the short barrel leaves something to be desired. I like shooting .45 Colt, I'd...

    I think word is out...

It's got nothing to do with some newfound popularity, 30 years of stagflation causes the prices on everything to go up and your ability to afford things to go down. I say stagflation because the official inflation numbers are a joke, as are the yearly wage increases when you realize that, at...

    Display your .38S&W & .32S&W Revolvers

Then it's a Long, not a Short. The only way a .32 is a Short is if only the Shorts will go in. That Young American I have, those are bored thru chambers and will chamber a .32 Lg wadcutter, but nothing else. The top breaks will chamber all .32 S&W Longs, not just wadcutters and the throats don't...

Potential .327 single shot rifle solution: Chaszel .410 to .327 adaptor.

Given the price and finish quality, they deserve it. The cheapest adapters I know of are the Chiappa's, but you're limited in barrel length to 7.5" and also available calibers. Chaszel offers many lengths and an ever growing number of calibers.

    Display your .38S&W & .32S&W Revolvers

Sorry for the reflection on the Y. America, but it's the most in focus pic I have of that. The top break is just the plain jane H&R 6 shot. I'm still looking to add a 5 or 6 inch H&R top break 6 shot and a 5 shot H&R top break .32 Short, but the darn things just never show up on gunbroker in...

Is Taurus a Good Brand for Revolvers

If you did the math correctly it's a $300 to $375 difference, which is 30% more for the 7 shot Ruger/S&W, 60% more for the Redhawk vs the 608. However, looking up those 7 shot GP100's now, if you want a 4" barrel, they're $900 on Gunbroker, so double the price and that's because Ruger has slowed...
