What kind of interesting old ammo do you have?

My wife's Grandfather brought back a Model 1911 .45 with 2 magazines and few rounds of ammo from Germany after WWI. The ammo was in a small 20 rd. cardboard box. We shot some of it but there are still a few rounds left. The box is dated 1915.

    Which handgun for newbie

I think all these points have been made. First, what will she be using the pistol for, personal defense, home defense, target shooting, hunting, or just plinking? Then have her hold several pistols to see which fit her hand best and which ones she can handle best. Then shoot them if possible...

Best Glock for Range use and Occasional Carry ?

I have a Glock 19.4, 17.3, and 17.5. If you will only carry occasionally, I would definitely recommend the G 17.5. It is the most accurate, best trigger, and the most fun to shoot in my opinion.

Red Dot on Glock 17 - need selection help

I'm guessing it is a matter of having a low profile to the sight and have it mounted in the OEM recess of have the recess machined? My other choice could be to get a spare slide, have one slide with iron, one with dot. Seems better to have both on one slide. Are there any other dots that can...

    G19 replacement?

I have a G19 gen 4, a G17 gen 3, and a G17 gen 5, and a few more. All 3 are great however, my favorite is the G17 gen 5 which I shoot the best. You mentioned that the addition will be primarily a range gun therefore, I would recommend the G17 gen 5. Try one if you can.

    Your "favorite" semiauto

I have several Glocks, a Sig P238, a S & W model 36, and a Browning Buck Mark Target Pistol. My favorite Glock is the G17 gen 5. However, the one I shoot the most, is the most accurate, and enjoy shooting the most is a Browning Buck Mark .22LR target pistol.

    Glock 26 red dot?

Definitely go with a milled slide because it mounts the red dot as low as possible on the slide. I have a G19 gen 4 with a slide milled by Jagerwerks. I move the Venom red dot between the G19 and a Browning Buck Mark .22 LR target pistol. The red dot works great for these old eyes!

Buckmark, Victory or Ruger MK IV for a 22lr?

I think it is great that you want to train your daughters to shoot. And the .22 LR is a great place to start. If your daughters are ready to start shooting I would involve them in the process of selecting a pistol. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the brands mentioned. But let your...

    Pocket 380 issues

Glock 42 .380 is a little larger but absolutely trouble free and shoots great! Also have the Sig P238 but prefer the Glock for carry.

    Bought a new Ruger SR22

I bought a Browning Buck Mark this year. I had been shooting mainly 9mm the last few years until I got the .22 LR. Haven't shot a 9mm since. The .22 is great fun and very accurate.

    G19 gen 4 or 5

I have a G17 Gen 5 and it is the best shooting Glock I have. I also have a G17 Gen 4, and a G19 Gen4. I definitely recommend the Gen 5. And depending on how you plan on using the it, you might consider a G17 rather than a G19.

    Browning Buckmark Heggis Spring Flip

I bought a Buck Mark a few months ago. The trigger was smooth with about a 4.3# trigger pull. I decided to flip the trigger spring and now it is super smooth with a trigger pull of about 3.2#. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, looking forward to shooting it.

How far do I drift the front sight?

I've never had a problem with sight adjustment, except when I lost the rear sight elevation screw on my Buckmark! I've changed out the sights on all my Glocks and for several others who asked me to change their sights. I always center the front sight using a scale, and use locktite on the screw...

How far do I drift the front sight?

Don't know of a formula but a gunsmith showed me how he adjust sights and it works for me. Make a pencil mark on top center of the slide in front of the rear sight. Also make a mark on the sight that lines up with the mark on the slide. I use a soft pencil which makes a fairly wide mark. To move...

    Browning Buckmark issues

The first time I shot my new Buck Mark I put 100 rds. of CCI 36 gr. through it and did not have any failures. It had not been cleaned at all. Before I shot it again I cleaned the barrel with a bore snake and cleaned the chamber, I did not remove the barrel or receiver. The next time I shot it I...

Thoughts on the Browning Buck Mark 22LR 5 1/2 Camper

I consider my Buck Mark Black Label my "free pistol". I try to shoot weekly at a local outdoor range when the weather permits. I've been doing this for a couple of years and it's about the only thing I can still do outdoors at 82. My wife is tolerant of my pistol shooting as she knows I really...

    Browning Buckmark issues

I also have a new Buck Mark, a Black Label. It ran fine on CCI 36 gr. and some Federal 36 gr. bulk ammo until it got a little dirty. I found in some of my research that failures are more common when the Buck Mark gets a little dirty. And it looks like mine will need to be cleaned after about...
