    New (to me) Cartridge

Reading is a difficult skill to master. Read twice before getting yourself twisted.

    Long Range Rifle/Scope/PRS question(s)

Bix n’ Andy TacSport Pro or TT Diamond. Under 1 lb. The B14R is a light rifle, it doesn’t take as much to push it around with trigger weight. I have Diamonds in my PRS rifles set at 6-8 oz, a Jewel in one rifle set at 4oz, and my son runs his Diamond at 10oz.

Mare's Leg: Worth it or a waste?

Short barrels are not less accurate than long barrels. To the contrary, shorter barrels - in theory - experience less flexion for a given force than do longer barrels of the same contour, which - in theory - should promote an accuracy advantage for shorter barrels. Short SIGHT RADII are more...

Starting a Journey into F class shooting

Yup - Sinclair Skipod, made to let the rifle track backwards as if it were riding a front rest, but without the front rest. I have the older Gen rocker feet on mine. My newest belly gun uses an Accutac WB4 converted to skis, since the rule set for these matches sometimes require the bipod to be...

Sierra Game King vs. Hornady Interlock

It seems you did understand my intent. We can’t blame bullets when we rush ourselves into bad shots for whatever reason we choose to do so.

    New (to me) Cartridge

H4350 is my go-to powder in 243 win for many years and many, many deer, pigs, and coyotes. I’m not a fan of the 100 Interlock in the 243win. It’s not a bad bullet, but it doesn’t make good use of the 243win case capacity. I firmly believe that folks recommend it because we wanted for years a...

Sierra Game King vs. Hornady Interlock

If you hadn’t taken that compromised angle shot, would you still be sitting in the woods 2 years later with that young buck still facing directly towards you at 40 yards, neither of you having moved in all of that time?

Sierra Game King vs. Hornady Interlock

Lay off the shoulder. If you don’t shoot through meat, you won’t ruin it. I went through a lot of bullets over the years, just trying different methods and different designs - and for the last ~15-16 years, I preferentially hunt deer with extremely rapid expanding bullets, and I pick deer out...

Sierra Game King vs. Hornady Interlock

This. If one shoots better in your rifle in the other, pick that one. If they shoot the same, flip a coin, or pick the one with the box you like better.

What new rifles are most exciting to you this year? Or over the past year?

My 2024 is gonna see a Bat CT action and a new Impact 737r for my wife. Maybe finally a RimX if there is room at the end of the year.

    Case cleaning/polishing

Reloaders who dry tumble aren’t absolved of waste management. All of the toxic content present in wet tumbler wash water is present in the dry tumbling media. Of course, worse, these are concentrated in the dry media by multiple tumblings in the same media, and then when thrown away in common...

    Polygonal rifled barrels

I’ve built and rebuilt AR uppers with around 50 polygonal rifled barrels - yes, they’re faster, yes, they’re easier to clean. I think the gas seal and bullet deformation “advantages” are grossly overstated. Accuracy for poly cut barrels, like all barrels, is dependent upon the quality of the...

    How many rounds?

5,000 is pretty generous for a competitive 308win. It would have to be a cut rifled barrel, no button, very lucky, and the competition format has to be relatively generous - USUALLY 5,000 is only mentioned around Service Rifle barrels for 308, where 1moa can shoot all X’s, the volume is...

7.62 Yahweh cartridge, is anyone familiar with it?

Yes, it’s so weird that multiple people joined this forum within a day of eachother to address this thread, and so weird that they both use the same run on sentence and rambling speech pattern… if this were Vegas, what’s the line on those users having the same IP address?

7.62 Yahweh cartridge, is anyone familiar with it?

Richard Gemmrig of Oregon, US Patent No. 11,060,828 - which is limited in scope by the claims to the 17•30’ + 30• shoulder angle when applied to 30 cal bullets being used in 7.62x39mm cartridge cases… So he wasted 5 grand to prevent someone else from having the same bad idea.

7.62 Yahweh cartridge, is anyone familiar with it?

If you’re publishing data which you know to be misrepresenting the chamber pressure in the sale of your products, that’s pretty obviously fraud. Not to mention that misrepresenting pressure data for a rifle cartridge is flatly unsafe. Pretty sure I heard a story once about God sending some dude...

    How many rounds?

A 6.5 creed will not be remotely burned out by 1,000 rounds. Also, burning out a 1/4moa 6.5 creed will not suddenly start spitting out 2-3moa groups. Something else is amiss. It ain’t barrel life.

Pretty much describes the way I read it.

7.62 Yahweh cartridge, is anyone familiar with it?

You are selling dies and barrels, but don’t yet have a cartridge drawing? How did you spec the reamer?
