    I bought 500 45 230 gr plated from Everglades for $89 free shipping. 500 45 230 gr fmj from zero was $98.90 . Plated works fine for me when I don’t have time to cast any so I went with Everglades. Just another option for the op.

    I haven’t seen any recommendations for Everglades ammo . I just received 500 of there 230 gr round nose plated 45 cal bullets and they seem good. The shipping was fast and they were affordable. Anyone else try Everglades?

    Does this happen with factory loads? Have you shot a lot of 38 special maybe a crud ring? I have never had problems shooting 38 special then shooting 357 but apparently some people have .is the pistol new?

    Brass shavings when expanding ?

    I size duburr chamfer all new brass also. I have received new brass with dented mouths burr in flash holes from lots of manufacturers. So it all gets brass prep . I also tumble in corn cob media with some polish to make sizing easier.

    I believe most complaints are from cast bullet loaders. I don’t think most jacked loads will touch the carbide ring. If loaded correctly.

    Laphroaig I believe the original poster will have a bhn closer to your results when he tests a bullet. I’m curious to see what jimgnitecki bhn numbers come out at . Hope he will post his results after his vaccination.

    Test a bullet instead of an Ingot . Ingots cool slower than bullet I believe you will get a higher bhn number from the bullet .also test a bullet and an ingot after a week and again in two weeks.

    some older rcbs dies have the decapping pin on the expanding die . Not sure when it was changed to the sizing die .Maybe one of the more seasoned hand loaders may know

    are you measuring to bullet tip or ogive with a comparator?
