    9mm Shield

Here's another vote for the Ruger LC9s. Has your daughter tried shooting one? It's important you ignore any experiences with the obsolete non-S model, as the LC9s is worlds better. I'm a CZ guy, but it's by far my favorite pocket 9, and was an easy choice when it came time to buy a pistol for...

The Top 10 Guns Never To Sell No Matter What

I sold an unremarkable SKS for $400 five years ago. Oh well, I'm happy with the gun I bought with that money (CZ vz. 58 rifle when PSA was selling them)

    MecGar magazines for CZ-75 SP-01

I have no experience with 19-rounders, but Mec-Gars are top quality and my first choice for CZ mags. All of the spare mags I've bought for my CZs have been Mec-Gars. Absolutely zero problems, great product. I recommend them to everyone.

Remington to file for Chapter 11 (reorganization) Bankruptcy

It's not surprising what has happened, considering their continued blunders (the R51 being the flagship). I'm thankful they finally did send back the $10 ammo rebate check they owed me- I had actually forgotten about it, at this point... I strongly prefer Remington pump shotguns, and own a...

    Waiting on Gunsmith support thread

Hallelujah! The saga concluded today, in a good way. When I left the house this morning, I was expecting I'd be paying them a housecall later in the day to see what exactly was going on. But they beat me to the punch by leaving a message this morning that the work was finished, and my rifle was...

    Waiting on Gunsmith support thread

Jim, Yes, this being my first time to employ the services of a smith, has certainly been a learning experience. I certainly won't be using this one again, and while *I* know the exact details of what was quoted, I'll be sure it is on paper next time. These guys are THE gunsmiths that all the...

    Waiting on Gunsmith support thread

Well, tomorrow will mark 10 weeks the gunsmith has had my rifle. With a quoted time of 4-6 weeks, I'm wondering if they've seriously screwed up my gun and aren't sure how to admit it/spin it? I've been calling as infrequently as possible (once every 1-2 weeks at the most), but I think I'm going...

    Waiting on Gunsmith support thread

I admit, this is my first time to ever send a gun to a gunsmith for work. All of my guns function smoothly, and I'm only having my semi-local smith pillar-bed this rifle because I've never done any glass-bedding before and want to make sure it's done right the first time in this, my most...

    Waiting on Gunsmith support thread

Do you ever get impatient waiting on your gunsmith to complete work on your firearm? I'm not making this thread to make a bad review about my particular gunsmith, I'm more just looking to commiserate with others in the same boat who can't wait to get their gun back so they can take it to the...

Did you hit a point where aquiring new guns wasn't that much of a priority anymore?

I'm good. I don't come close to the collections a lot of folks have on here, but I am quite satisfied and more than happy with what I've got. My future plans mostly deal with replacing/upgrading the parts on firearms I already have, sending them to the gunsmith for TLC, etc.

    Browning Hi Power, need schooled.

I'd think he needs to add $200 cash for that trade to work, if your rifle really is worth $700. Which I'm guessing will cause the other guy to decline the trade. I have never shot a Hi Power, but they are generally well-liked. I agree with others that note that refinishing it with cerakote etc...

Do you correct someone if they refer to a magazine as a clip?

It definitely hurts my ears, but I admit I let some ignorance pass uncorrected if I feel it will be falling on deaf ears, anyway.

    The JACK AR pistol build.

Yes, I think the customizations (red accents, skull, etc) were tastefully done, and the smile at the end is a sure sign of success. Well done!

How people justify paying too much (Heritage Rough Rider versus Ruger Single Six)

Well I guess that explains things, then. All of my pocket knives are in the free-$20 range, and they always cut whatever I need. No need to burn money on a fancy tool (be it a knife or .22 pistol) when a cheaper tool gets the job done, especially when it is not used for defense. (I have no...
