Facts Supporting A Citizen's Right to Own, Carry, and Use Firearms

The claims being made to argue against sane conceal carry laws in NY are the same bogus ones we heard here in Virginia when Conceal Carry was first approved. In the many years since we've seen that conceal carry didn't do what they're saying in NY and what was said here in VA. Instead crime...

    Carry at polling places.

Yes. Voting laws are state issues. It was legal in Va. if the polling place wasn’t in a school. I’m not sure if it still is. Our previous governor was very anti gun and pushed lots of stuff to hurt our rights. And I know one he wanted was making polling places “gun free zones”.

VA anti-gun parking: I just wrote to my Senators and Congressman.

sorry I mixed up VA with Virginia It was late and while I knew this was about Veterans hospitals I didn’t check where the OP was

VA anti-gun parking: I just wrote to my Senators and Congressman.

The last time I was at the VA hospital in Salem Va it was the same. So as others said, I believe it’s a VA thing. Good luck with getting action from your Representatives. Tim Kaine is as anti gun as you can get so his office won’t help you. Mark Warner isn’t much better. So both of our US...

Oh the possibilities of 3D printing

This is a BS article. 3D printing is an immature technology that still requires a bunch of skill to make stuff. yes 3D printers are becoming very affordable. But you can’t just print a gun by pressing a button. Likewise parts to make one fully automatic. To design parts one has to learn CAD...

    Ammo at Wal Mart...

We had a Walmart in our area that used to carry 50 BMG ammo. After it was announced that Walmart won’t be carrying handgun and rifle ammo they stopped. It’ll like most of the Walmart stores in our area has a limited supply of accessories and a little bit of random shotgun and 22.

    380 acp from .233 Rem?

I would think if you had a lathe it’s doable. That said, it seem not very practical. But if one was looking for a project I guess I would be as good as any.

Does BE-86 render Power Pistol Obsolete?

I love BE-86 for 9mm. For practice it’s amazing. To me it seems like it’s not as snappy as Win231 which is the other powder I use a lot of.

I want to be "that guy" with one CCW weapon...

True. I went through some really rough times. But when things get a bit better it’s nice to get a new gun. Especially one you’ll love and carry often. My journey started getting a PF9 way back when. It was the smallest 9mm at the time and I didn’t know better. It’s an awful gun in fit and...

    New to reloading….

Congrats. And never stop being extra cautious. Better to be safe then to mess up and have bad things happen. Get as many manuals as you can and watch as many videos as you can. As you’re learning, reloading isn’t hard, you just have to be really good with the attention to detail.

No way in heck there is still an ammo shortage

I was at that Cabellas last week. They had ammo. But odds and ends. I didn’t see what OP saw. I saw no common handgun, no common rifle. Just odds and ends of various calibers. And reloading supplies were bare. Talking to a guy that worked there he said they get stuff in and it sells quickly. I...

    9mm target powder choice

I love BE86 with 124gr. Someone posted about the combo and it's a great practice/competition combo.

    Die recommendations

I’ve used LEE, Hornaday and RCBS. I actually like the LEE does the best. That said, I haven’t noticed much difference in using them. All have excellent customer service. So I say get what you can find or what’s the least expensive unless you need match grade, then buy the best you can find.

Found a pound of hp38 school me

The powder companies will send you a free reloading manual if you go to the or site and request one. Personally I always check their sites and the manuals especially in a new to me powder.

Found a pound of hp38 school me

It’s the same as Win 231. It’s just rebranded. Often you’ll see references as HP38/Win 231 it’s a common powder and used by many for many calibers. It’s not my favorite but it works well.

Crossing the threshold of being prudent..or..a hoarder. Rethinking inventory.i

True it’s also a bad time to use up what you have. The question is, will prices go down some more or are we at a bottom for awhile (ever?) I’m hoping with new plants being built, we will see more product and lower prices. But I also know more demand could also eat that up. I’d say, buy what...

Crossing the threshold of being prudent..or..a hoarder. Rethinking inventory.i

I have a system that is ok. It’s not perfect but it is what I do. I buy two boxes of ammo for every box I shoot. Then I reload the brass. I also buy twice the powder and primers I use. So I don’t have as much as I’d like, but I have enough to get through a small crisis. Sadly things were...

What size primers do I need

I’m going to pile on the get a manual. Personally I like the LEE one as it’s well written, but any of the major ones will do. I’d also suggest watching as many YouTube videos as possible. Once you read the section on the basics, I’d suggest rereading several times. Then get a second manual from...

Ruger AR 556 or Smith and Wesson M&P 15

I agree building is a great option for a first AR. I haven’t used or spent much time with the Ruger but have with the M&P and they’re very nice. As said PSA is also a great option.

How many times have you dropped a firearm?

When I first started conceal carrying. The cheap holster I had didn’t have great retention. Good holsters have solved that.
