Please don't do this to a vintage knife

I don’t take any tools to an old knife but boy howdy I’ve chopped on a couple of modern ones! I’ve used a dremel for polishing only. Everything else is done with sandpaper or stone. I took a lot off the spine on the top one and you can see I’ve marked it up to take even more off. The middle...

What is the most recent knife you bought?

I was parted from my money soon after seeing the new Buck “Larrin”. It’s a dressed up Squire with a Magnacut blade and a fun little tribute to the Knife Steel Nerds website.

    Hiding the heavyweights

Having a short barrel sure helps with the thick ones because a high riding OWB is all I have personally found that works well with a 242 or 327 PC, and these aren’t even heavy. It’s just the size.

Offer received from local dealer for gun collection.

I offer 90% of retail. I’ll take that Colt SA for $1200, you know, for the widows and orphans.

    S&W 686 it's hard to beat

My Uncle carried a no dash as a Deputy back in the 80s. When he took a job as a prison guard he sold it to my father, who left it to me.

Interesting. I know of no other 7 shot 32s than the CA Professional. Do you plan to acquire one?

KME vs Worksharp Precision Adjust PRO

So KME vs PA Pro? The KME has more stones and strops in more grits available. It goes up to 1500 grit in diamond and has blank kangaroo strops available to add any strop compound you choose. The PA Pro has a more stable system. It handles traditional knives well, both in the clamp and on the...

KME vs Worksharp Precision Adjust PRO

Today I sharpened up my Buck 112 in S30V. The lower grit stones removed material fast and this knife finished with a slightly cloudy mirror that is impressive. You can see in one pic that despite taping up the thumb studs I still bunged them up.

KME vs Worksharp Precision Adjust PRO

I’ll get on a modern knife soon. I’ll pick a middle of the road “super” steel and see how the low grit stones do

KME vs Worksharp Precision Adjust PRO

I couldn’t resist taking one more stab at a traditional. This time a GEC 86 Angus Jack in medium rare. The “pen” blade turned out excellent on the small knife table and the main blade (sheepsfoot) fit the v clamp perfectly and turned out excellent as well. The v clamp is very solid with minimal...

KME vs Worksharp Precision Adjust PRO

Next up I will do a modern folder in the v clamp, as that is likely what most folks would use it for.
