    Range Report: Sig P365

I agree that skills are perishable. Don't appreciate Your highlighted comment though. You know nothing about me or my past. A snarky comment because we don't agree is childish. Like I said...Train as you wish. I'm done with this.

    Range Report: Sig P365

So HOW MUCH should we shoot our CCW guns? Thousand rds a week? At least a hundred a DAY? Good Lord, handling a firearm isn't rocket science. You train, you build muscle memory, You practice enough to be competent. You then hone those skills when You can. A single magazine down range...

    Range Report: Sig P365

I ran another 50 or 60 rds through mine yesterday. So I'm up to 210+ rds , ALL without issue. Going to shoot/crono some carry ammo next few days and call it GTG. My take on the 365 and all of these micro nines is; they have put the 9mm into the smallest package they can. A package that is...

Doublehelix......I like my little G-42 for the summer, but even TEN rds...of 9mm! VS 7 or 8 rds of .380 acp !!! HUGE difference there. I have NEVER felt well armed with the three eighty ,no matter the ammo.

    Range Report: Sig P365

Picked up a 365 a few days ago. Build date of 10 May 2018. It appears to have the updated striker assembly. Put 16 mags through it yesterday using both of the supplied 10 rd mags eight times each. Ammo was everything from some 100 gr Win Clean, sintered bullet ammo to 147 gr Fed hydra shoks...

    .260 Remington

I shoot LR with a couple of guys who have the AI versions of both the .260 Rem and the 6.5 x 55 . Both seem to work quite well. I went 6.5 x 47 Lapua for my LR rifle. Been happy with the accuracy. Not as much case capacity as the other two but when I built it 4 yrs back the Lapua brass...

    Skeeter Skelton holsters

He used a lot of El Paso saddlery as previously mentioned. QUALITY leather goods, built in the same shop since 1898. Tom Threepersons was a favorite. His Son is around, Bart would know exactly what he had. He's on Facebook. Still lives down in Deming, NM.

    You African hunters, just curious

I'd agree that the hippo is a dangerous bugger , same for the mosquito and drinking any of the water though. Had a lioness run into a kill on a ranch once. Hoping to snatch it. THAT is my only scary hunting story. Happy to report I held my ground, covered her as she growled at us, then...

I was thinking about a .280 AI but then the 6.5 PRC came along.

I've found that once the range to that animal gets much past 400 yds...Expansion is the least of Your worries. Being able to PLACE that bullet in the heart/lung area IS the issue. And at 600 yds....NOT me. I've seen far too many wounded animals found days later being eaten alive by magpies and...

    Money Bomb the NRA

An update for everyone. A friend from my gun club is involved with our local Friends of NRA Banquet. He spoke to some NRA Regional Rep and the fellow mentioned that they ARE in fact , getting bombed with donations as well as new Members. So the plan IS working. Let's hope we can all get...

I was thinking about a .280 AI but then the 6.5 PRC came along.

How FAR do You intend to shoot at game? I can't recite the ballistic chart numbers, but I CAN give You some real world experience with the .280 Rem/.280 AI and 150/160 Nosler Partitions. Killed probably close to a dozen mature elk with a std .280 and later on a .280AI. Closest 200 yds, farthest...

    Assembling a long-range rifle...on the cheap

I'd suggest getting either an ATLAS bipod, or a DECENT front rest. Either way....ditch that wooden mess you have there. I can shoot very good groups with an ATLAS, off a bench. And NO just because HARRIS sells a bipod....it is NOT an ATLAS. No comparison. Get a good rear bag as well. Is...

4-5/8" .44 Special Ruger Blackhawk, New Model flat top came home today

An acquaintance from my gun club bought one of these and he ended up sending it back, terribly inaccurate. It came back with another cylinder and was reasonably accurate. Couldn't hold a candle to my FA M-97 in .44 Spcl though. I'm no Ruger fan, but I DO like a few of their special run...

    Remington and Bankruptcy

"Rem 700..... Way over rated" I guess that's why Stiller and Defiance ,to just name two...Can't make enough rem 700 clone actions for their customers. It IS a good design. The earlier Rem 700's were all generally good shooters. With a few small tweaks...Great shooters. Remington started...

    Picked up another S&W revolver

I have the near same gun, my FIL carried it on 33 missions over Europe in his B-24. What a piece of History. Too bad these old guys can't tell their story.
