Has anyone had issues with HSM Cowboy ammo in .45 Colt?

I used some HSM 44 spl Cowboy ammo in my 44 Magnum and found it extremely dirty and difficult to clean up the stainless steel cylinder. Seemed consistent however. I have used their 308 ammo and it was fine. That is the extent of my experience with it.

If Not A Glock, Then What?

This discussion will go on for the next 100 Years. Minimum. Never liked the Glock grip angle. Too used to the 1911 grip angle. When I transitioned, I went to the FNX 45, which they purposely incorporated the 1911 grip angle. After 5 years, and countless rounds it is second nature And never had a...

44 mag rifle. Single shot, lever, or bolt action?

I got a Henry lever action Big Boy carbine in 44 magnum 3 months ago. First, agree with the posters who hate buckhorn sights. With old eyes will probably scope it. The original front sight blade was way too short. I could not zero it as every shot went 12” high at 25 yards. Called Henry, they...

Concealed Carry in Bear Country? 357 Mag, 41 Mag, or 45 ACP + P

Consider it an intellectual exercise, as in black bear country I never carry anything. I have bears in my property every year, really don’t worry about them. Grizzly’s more of a threat, but your odds are still ridiculously low.

Concealed Carry in Bear Country? 357 Mag, 41 Mag, or 45 ACP + P

Wisdom in this post. Agree. In the mid 70’s I backpacked a lot in The Hebgen Lake and Spanish Peaks area West of Yellowstone. I carried a S snd W Model 28 357 because that is what I could afford. Carried nothing in Yellowstone as that was the law then. I now pack either a Model 29 or 629 in 44...

    What happened to the AR-18?

Had one for 10 years. It was both handy and accurate once I shimmed the folding stock. AlexanderA’s post covered it well.

    .308ARs, Armalite/DPMS

First, I don’t run around bragging that I am a troll on other forums, which you just have, as how would you know unless you have been lurking on the other forum you mentioned. I have never mentioned other forums on the High Road, and would not out of respect for the people who have put a lot of...

    .308ARs, Armalite/DPMS

Simple. When your life depends on the reliability of a weapons system, you don’t round up to the nearest inch on any part of it. Especially just to defend a previous comment. As far as the rationale for using a complete recoil buffer system from Armalite, I suggest you take a course in...

    Best and worst bulk 22LR

This is pretty amazing, in that everyone has its champions and detractors. I am guessing firearm design and model variations have a lot to do with reliability of individual brands. I have a standard 10/22 that will feed and shoot anything but Federal. A Ruger Mark 2 that does pretty well except...

    .308ARs, Armalite/DPMS

Indeed! College credit for that would be a good thing! Even between Armalite AR10’s you have the “A” and “B” models which have differences regarding magazine compatibility. If you have a “B” stock up on magazines, as I am guessing somedaythey will be discontinued. Mr. Flair, by the way hailed...

    .308ARs, Armalite/DPMS

I have two complete Armalite AR10’s and both are shooters. I think you will find that more common then not mshootnit. Enjoy it! Looks to be a “B” model from the looks of the magazine.

    Best and worst bulk 22LR

CCI used to come in bulk, but have not seen it in a while. I have given up on most bulk to tell youthe truth. Seems I get a huge amount of misfires and jams with all bulk brands. And part of it is quite a number of my 22’s now seem optimized for 22 High Velocity cartridges. Including my GSG 1911...

    I flame the .44 Special ....

You shoot the weapons you are capable of mastering. I am 255 pounds with XXXL hands. For me it is no big deal. The recoil is strong, however. I download 44 magnum cases rather then buy 44 special cartridges because 44 special ammo is hard to find where Iive. And the handloads are cheaper and...

    I flame the .44 Special ....

If you are in an alder thicket in Alaska working to get to a hole where salmon are schooled up, you want the loud unruly mess of a 44 magnum or bigger in a chest holster along with your can of bear spray or a cylinder bore 12 guage strapped across your back. That is what I bought them for and...
