You might try looking for a used Remington or Mossberg pump in a gun store or pawn shop.

Another mainstream article about ammunition shortage

Academy where I live has plenty of .223, .556, 7.62x39, 7.62x51, 45ACP on the shelves and has now for a while.

New primary military round will be 6.8 and it will have a plastic case, not brass

Well, we have to keep funding that giant Military Industrial Complex that Ike warned us about

    Smith 686-3 3”?

LGS around here has a 3" 66 on consignment for $1750; if I could find one of those rare guns for $600, I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat. While 4" is nice all around if you only have 1, the 3" carries much better and the 5" 686 makes for better nightstand duty.

    Gunsafe+guns+fire=???

When I lived out West, they always were encouraging homeowners who lived in danger areas to clear shrubs, brush and even trees a certain distance from the house to prevent your house from burning down. Amazed me to see folks in the hills of CA with cedar shake roofs, shrubs, brush and tinder...

Liberty make a wide range of safes; their best line is one they bought called National Security - solid steel doors, not a laminate that looks good.

Arizona Decides Trail Cameras Violate Fair Chase; Slap Hunters with Country’s First Full Cam Ban

Most states out West DO limit the number of tags available; many use a lottery system where maybe you get a tag that year, and maybe you don't. When I lived out West and I drew a tag, it then became scouting time on the weekends before the season; meaning walking, riding, glassing, spotting...

    Multi-use work station?

For a desk, look for US Government surplus - they only buy the best with our money and sell them off for pennies on the dollar

    Gunsafe+guns+fire=???

Clear the brush and trees away from the house; install a sprinkler system to prevent it from catching fire; if it still cathces fire, unless it is in some impervious concrete underground bunker, don't expect much to survive.

How To Choose a Handgun?? Wadda ya think?

Maybe I missed it but reliability, after market accessories and customer service from the maker are important considerations, especially for someone and their first gun

What's your choice for low recoil defense? .410, 20, or 12 gauge minishells?

28 is very common - it was the only shotgun ammo on the shelves around here during the panic shortages; one of the great choices for everything from quail to turkeys to ducks

The One(s) You DON'T Regret Trading or Selling

Lots of guns that went away went away because I didn't want/like/need them any more. Kahr CM-9, Glock 19, Garand, Ruger 10/22, Marlin 39A, Swede Mauser, XP-100, and on and on..............

What's your choice for low recoil defense? .410, 20, or 12 gauge minishells?

    Actually, from a 20, the next step down is a 28 and Brennke makes a 5/8oz slug for a 28 bore gun...................and a 28 is a joy for birds too;)
