Just picked up a new Marlin 1895SBL and it reminded me I had this old 39 in the back of the gun safe. Star marked, S prior to serial number so assuming 1920s manufacture. Inherited from my father who inherited it from my grandfather. Original finish, not too bad considering how many squirrels...
