...Banana Grips on S&W revolvers that is.
Some months ago Armored Farmer posted some pictures of his fine looking S&W model 66 revolver with S&W factory banana grips.
I liked what I saw and bought a set. Found out they made my hand smacking K & J frames feel good in my hands these days as...
Question for those with a Rossi 720...what holster do you use? I've got a Roy's Leather 2.5" K-frame holster that I've been using. Some of the barrel sticks out the bottom of course. All other K holsters are too loose for the Rossi's smaller cylinder and frame.
Old gun but a favorite...slim and trim. Serial number puts it at 1927 production.
26" barrels marked to be choked Cylinder (left) and Full (right). I had the chambers reamed to accept 2.75" shells and also had the forcing cones lengthened.
I like my PF9 especially for carry in this hot humid weather. The front rail I found annoying since I never plan to hang a light on the front.
Today I removed the front tooth and smoothed up the snout somewhat.
I like it better this way...at least today I do. :scrutiny:
Anyone else have some custom leather made by Tom Dyer (Saquaro Gunleather) in Kingman AZ?
I've got three I had him make a few years ago. Nice quality work.
with a 4" Colt Python
with a 2.5" S&W 19-2
with custom 1917 Colt .45 acp
I'd been thinking about bobbing the hammer on my old but nice CA Undercover .38 Special.
I did a few google searches for Charter Arms Bobbed Hammer and one took me to the CA website. I saw there I could buy a spurless DAO hammer assembly (blue or stainless) for $24.95. I ordered one.
I...
I thought Google was my friend, but its not.
What does TLR mean (or stand for) when referring to a light?
I know Streamlight uses "TLR" in reference to some of their models, but other brands use "TLR" also. :scrutiny:
thanks!
I've got an early model Ruger Speed Six, 4" barrel, round butt. The serial number prefix is 150- then goes into the remainder of the number. The Ruger website shows the gun was made in 1974.
Did Ruger make Speed Six revolvers with a different roundbutt grip frame shape early on, then change...
Sticking with the same power scope for comparison, which do you guys feel is the best scope for the $'s?
Nikon Monarch series or the Bushnell 4200 series? :scrutiny:
Here are a couple of pics of a Winchester 250 Deluxe .22 LR that I bought about a month ago to resale. The 250's were made for 11 years (1960-1971)...the Deluxe versions for 1/2 that time. This one appears to be unfired.
Problem is, I'm getting attached to it because of the wood.
The...
I've shot two deer thus far this season with my .45-70 Marlin Guide Gun. I used handloads with 49.5 grains of IMR 3031 under a Remington 405 grain JSP bullet.
Both bullets exited the deer, leaving exit wounds the diameter of a 25-cent piece.
Deer #1 was shot 70-75 yards behind the...
Here's some pics of my 1908 Colt .25 auto. The serial number puts it at 1926 for a mfg.date.
I know what Jeff Cooper had to say about .25 autos...don't think he was ever shot with one though. :scrutiny:
Better than carrying nothing, and conceals so easily.
Here is a pic of one of my shiny .38 Supers. This one is a RIA and is sporting some Water Buffalo grips made by Vu Kim Son. I just received them yesterday and had a short two week wait from Viet Nam to North Carolina.
I like'em!
What's the best bullet type/weight to use for deer hunting with the .45-70 Marlin Guide Gun?
I read lots about the 300 grain JHP for such, but I'm reluctant to shoot a deer with a hollow point bullet. The reason being is I want TWO HOLES, the second being an exit hole.
I fear the 300JHP...
Here is a pic of a gun I recently got in trade from a forum member.
It is a Winchester 94AE .30-30, pre safety with a loooong barrel. At some point in time for unknown reasons, someone replaced the forestock with wood and end cap from (I think) an older Winchester.
I kinda like the look...
Here's a couple of pics of my Marlin .45-70 Guide Gun. It has the ported barrel and some pretty good looking factory wood. I just finished putting Warne bases and Warne QD low rings on it...scope is a Leupold V-X II 2x7.
