What is the proper way to attach a ferrule to the wood m1a stock I'm working on? I've looked, but can't find anything definitive.

Not without taking off the parkerizing it's an Express. I'm wanting to hit it with some alumahyde to prevent Remington rust (which I've dealt with before). Considered cerakote but I can't justify paying as much for a coating as I did the gun.
