Sig Sauer as a duty pistol?

I've carried a Sig P226 for the past 14.5 years. First a 9mm DAO (different from the DAK-terrible trigger!) then a .357 SIG in both DAK and DA/SA. I can wholeheartedly recommend the P226 as a fantastic duty weapon. I personally prefer the DA/SA with the SRT trigger but the DAK is quite...

Wanted: Very Reliable High Capacity .45

I picked up a Taurus 24/7 Pro in 45ACP in the spring. I've been shooting it all summer and it has been perfectly reliable. I've got at least 1000 rounds through it now. I actually ran it with several hundred rounds of extremely filthy reloads last week and it gobbled them up without a hitch. It...

    Taurus 24/7 vs. CZ75

I have a 24/7 Pro in 45ACP that has been absolutely reliable. It's quite accurate and has fantastic ergonomics. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. That being said the CZ has a long and distinguished service record. It is a first rate weapon. The 24/7 will probably be a bit...

Revlver guy with Taurus 24/7 pro .45 questions

I've got a little over 300 flawless rounds through my PT24/7 Pro 45. Felt recoil is suprisingly soft, function is flawless and accuracy seems very good. The Heinie sights are designed for a dead on hold not a 6 olclock hold. So far I am VERY impressed with this pistol.

Taurus PT145 (Mil. Pro) goes to the range . . .

My experience with my new 24/7 Pro stainless 45 has been similar. 1st 300 rounds were flawless and no cleaning. Not even an initial cleaning. I am very impressed with these pistols. If this 24/7 continues to behave itself a PT145 will likely be in my future. As well as an OSS!

Please recommend IWB Tuckable holster for Sig 239

I use a Comp-Tac C.T.A.K. IWB holster and could not be happier with it. I covered the back of the holster with moleskin for added comfort. I highly recommend the Vclips. When combined with a velcro lined belt the holster is rock solid and damn near invisable. I've carried my 1911SC in it in...

Best iron sights on a milsurp?

The Garand wins it for me. Followed closely by the #4Mk1 Enfield. For the barrel mounted setups, the K31 gets my vote with the Nagant a close second.

    Not to start trouble.............but.........

I have some of these sights on a few of my milsurp rifles. They are very well made, require no modifications and really increase my accuracy. Many of the sights on these old rifles leave something to be desired! http://www.mojosights.com/

    BP Substitutes

I would definitely stick with good old black powder in your flint lock. I've used Pyrodex and 777 in my Encore and they work great. My flintlock does not care for them. If the powder ignites it usually goes off like a hang fire. Black powder isn't all that bad to clean. I mainly use Goex Ffg...

    Scout Rifle Photos??

I took both of the Scouts out today for a little shoot. I didn't shoot my best with the guide gun but my little Enfiled continues to amaze me. I fed it some Yugoslavian "Hotshot" 180gr factory ammo, some handloads and factory Federal 180gr ammo. The Federal and handloads stayed consistantly...
