    .45 ACP bullet weight starting point

    95% of the ammo run through my 45 pistols is a 200 gr SWC over 3.6 gr Clays. It's a nice soft shooting load and very accurate. I did shoot some 230 gr Hornady XTP over 6.6 gr CFE Pistol yesterday. Those were quite the handful out of a LW Commander.

    This is why I never put things on the roof of a car or on a bed cover. They go straight from my hands to the interior of the vehicle. Or straight from the vehicle to wherever I'm going. Part of that comes from being responsible for the US mail for all those years.

    Oh the horror!

    I realize all that. Several of the stores had sold the rifles before I got there that day. Many of the stores had rifles on hold. Believe me, they were all tired of getting asked about clearance rifles.

    When tumbling brass how long do you tumble it?

    When I use my vibratory tumblers I tumble till I remember to turn it off. This sometimes means 18 hours. I try and do no more than 3-4 hours max.

    AA has it right again. The brace doesn't make it a pistol. If the first upper on the receiver is a rifle receiver then it's a rifle for life. When I build a new AR the first thing I do is put a pistol upper on it, put a brace on it, then take pictures and note on my serial number list that...
