    Bersa 9

found a smokin deal on a Bersa Thunder 9 and found this to be a great entry level gun. My first handgun. Very pleased with the Thunder so far. I've got Break free powder remover and Remington oil. Sound like a good regimen of products. Please elaborate. Less frequent full-disassembly needed?

    Ruger Single Six

Got a good shake in the end. I have a fancy for rabbit and squirrel hunting. I wanted to use that Single6 with a 4x scope as a skill reinforcer. Sounded like a fun way to stay sharp. Traded it back. Cut and run. Then there's the fact that I was followed twice this deer season by a bear and...

    Ruger Single Six

I lef the shop with a brand new Single 6 Convertible and didn't realize the gun I had was not the adjustable sights model. I was too excited I guess after all the complications getting it in the first place. A scoped 22mag could be a fun small game set up. I will be contacting the shop about...

    Sidearm Pair

That's neat. I thought about that in the back of my mind. Isn't there kind of an existing tap? Well?... Yes there is. How clever. Has anyone shot the S&W 22A or a Browning Buckmark? The winner of that round faces the Single six which has the 22WMR going for it. Triggers will make the deal...

    Sidearm Pair

WHich of those rugers can dress with some glass though? Just the Black hawks?

    Sidearm Pair

Starting to learn about handguns. I think small game pistol hunting would be a blast. I also want an option for power (for mid-range larger game hunting or defense). Is there a centerfire caliber that crosses over? Both hunting handguns would need to be tapped for bases or have a rail...

    2" high@100

You're hearing me. Good gun. Glad to have it.

    2" high@100

Serious THNX. I keep you guys in my back pocket(my top 4 bk.mrks folder) because of the consistant availability of support. You have always delivered with highend/highroad responses. I appreciate it. Sometimes the littlest things hang me up but this thread is helping to make my first hunting...

    2" high@100

I read a blurb about some guys kill zone theory and I thought I'd bounce it off you guys. He's got it figured out so that his rifle is 3.5" high at 100 and 3.5 low at 300 I think. He doesn't entertain any real hold-over when he deer hunts because his kill zone is 7" between 100-300 yards. He...

    2nd 10/22

The first rifle I bought was a 10/22. I no longer have it but now I'm considering the purchase. I like the WMR option. How much more doe$ it co$t? Anyhow, is the barrel band a variable? Talk to me about what you think the best factory set up is. I like the contoured but plate and the SS...

    Stack-On security cabinet

I was surprised to see how many of you chose the cabinet over the combination lock safe. It appears to be the burliest economy safe around, ($199). I want one. But I don't want to pay $100 to ship it.

    How to ask

The prospective landowners are all hours away from where I live. It's to my favor, in a way, to send out some correspondance ahead of me. Weed out the no's and visit the yes's so to speak. I would offer the pursuit of coyote or other predators.

    How to ask

I'd like to inquire with some cattle ranchers in our state and see if they'd allow me to hunt on their property. Any insight into asking for permission from a stranger is very appreciated. I want to present well.

    What's the Diff!?

I like the H&R The point is I always did. I reasd a lot of iffy customer reports complaining of accuracy issues and that mess just doesn't fly with me. Below average performance isn't ever worth the money. That's like buying bald tires. We'll see. There were a lot of happy shooters too...

    What's the Diff!?

I found the "Survivor" rifle on the Harrington & Richards site which I got to from the Marlin site. Pretty awesome little piece with a bull barrel. Reminisant of the Encore or Contender but more industrial. It's almost a takedown in a way. And, it'll throw down in .308. Anyway, I have found the...

    Almost Geared Up!

Picked up some new equipment on a shopping mission today. Got some awsome Scarpa GoreTex boots and an Under Armour hood and some good gloves. Scored a diamond blade sharpener for the camp kit. Little stuff. Every year or so you gotta fill in the gaps. It was fun to shop and feel all excited...

    Carry two rifles

GoldenBear Good looking out man! I haven't inquired yet about the second gun. I know quite a few hunters that take their pistols out no matter what though. But the game consideration is an interesting spin. Thanks for the tip. I might call tomorow.

    Carry two rifles

Do any of you carry two rifles afield? i know a lot of you carry a sidearm too. On some level I appreciate the focus of the hunt and the watching. Say I'm deer hunting...Why confuse the issue by having my .22 with me in case a couple of squirells runs out? It's a deer hunt. On the other hand...

    Off Season

I get to the range often. It's not far. I've got tons of links through and through the WDFW site as well as a head start with DeLormme maps and the BG Pamphlet. I've been charting the off-limits areas in hopes of clarifying the search for year round lands. You'd think I'd have it covered but...

    Off Season

We are basiclly the off season crowd. That's how the folks at the WDFW make me feel anyway. I've been eager to find areas to hunt coyote. First I thought I'd look into the areas near me that are open to "regular" season hunting. Nope. I guess I didn't know the rule that "Wildlife" areas are...
