looking to get into the big bore game (double action/single action revolvers)

One option made with quality steel is a Colt .41 lc double action. My 1896 is a high quality piece and while I take good care of it, I have no doubt it would stand up to service use.

looking to get into the big bore game (double action/single action revolvers)

Not the one you asked, but I will chime in. The new production 29 is a fine gun but needs care or will rust immediately in poor conditions like the swamp. Unfortunately poor quality Chinese steel is the norm today, look for a much older model.

Ruger mini 30 sub MOA walk in

I have a scope and a tripod. Could probably get close off-hand. The trick is practice. I get up at 3:00 and shoot till 6:00 on Saturday mornings. I've been doing that since the late 70's.

Ruger mini 30 sub MOA walk in

You seem to be new to firearms, but sadly the Ruger Mini rifles are way marked up in the first place for die cast childrens' rifles. Only the A-team is keeping them on the market. You would probably get more selling at the pawn shop.

looking to get into the big bore game (double action/single action revolvers)

I can only recommend the Kimber K6s. A .357 unfortunately, but the other companies have gone down into the pits as far as quality is concerned. Anything other than a pre lock stainless smith will rust and/or corrode in operational conditions. I have kept mine in my truck for a few years now and...

Ruger mini 30 sub MOA walk in

With good ammo and a steady hand most rifles are capable of sub MOA. In fact, I silhouettes out to 250 yards with my Taurus 454 and consistently hit within a 3 inch group. People claiming that they can't shoot that well are just covering up for their own physical inadequacies.

    Cheap pistol for personal protection

I cut my Ruger LCP in half and threw it out if that's any indication of which way to go.

Best combat shotgun for heavy use excluding Moss 500/Rem 870

I'm fully aware of how to take care of my guns. The rest of my guns are extremely well taken care of. But the shotgun will be treated how I've described. Need something that will last 6 months plus. I would rather buy another one than spend more than a few minutes a month spraying down the shotguns.

    GP100 Material

No I've looked at others for myself, to be honest, never been impressed for the price they charge and not a fan of the push button cylinder release. For $350 unfired though, it's more reasonable.

I know what I'm looking at. The crane forks off and becomes very thin near the side of the gun. I put a picture of a GP100 crane for reference. I'm just asking if this is common, calm down.

    GP100 Material

I haven't bought it yet, it was new. He just thought he was getting something "different." Not sure if this is still the correct way, but to check endplay properly I use a feeler gauge between barrel and cylinder with the hammer back. One measurement holding cylinder forward, one pushing it back.

I'm having trouble taking you seriously when you're getting so worked up you can't read. I said part of the crane.

Best combat shotgun for heavy use excluding Moss 500/Rem 870

Thanks, but unfortunately if something doesn't hold up to my use case it's better off in the scrap heap. Meticulous maintenance just to stop something from rusting up is a no go. I have a browning 380 that gets the same treatment and last week I fired it for the first time in a year. Perfectly fine.

    GP100 Material

Thanks, good to know. Just wanted to make sure if I decided to buy it. Maybe this one's a lemon, but definitely not built "like a tank." Lots of endplay, sharp edges everywhere, part of the crane is as thin as aluminum foil. Cylinder rattles when unlatched. Is this normal? I thought it was...

    GP100 Material

Quick question: What's the Ruger GP100 made out of? Can't find a clear answer. A buddy of mine just purchased one. Very similar to rugers 80s revolvers but made out of lighter metal. Are these cast from zinc pot metal like a bryco? It's black not stainless. He ordered online sight unseen. Sounds...

Best combat shotgun for heavy use excluding Moss 500/Rem 870

Does anyone own a remington 887? Looks like it will require maintenance and last some time. Is it easier to pump than an 870? Looks to be the glock of shotguns. I'm retired, don't farm for a living, the equipment I do have gets the same treatment and lasts decades outside. And sorry I try not...

My son's, works well for him. Anything like this but really easy to rack and semi auto?

Best combat shotgun for heavy use excluding Moss 500/Rem 870

Been told that a few times, more for rust prevention than lubricant. Anything else that's cheap in large quantities and can be sprayed? Need something that will hold up for at least 6 months under poor conditions and heavy use, that doesn't look like it. I have trouble racking the common...

Best combat shotgun for heavy use excluding Moss 500/Rem 870

Trying to get another shotgun, mostly for the family. I've had a lot of shotguns in the past, that haven't held up to my heavy use. These include striker 12, typhoon ar12, rock island ar12. Every single one winds up in the scrap pile within a few months. I can't use the mossberg or 870 due to it...
