    SIG P226 v 220

Keep in mind that the grip shape between the two is going to be a little different - the P220 is a little wider front to back whereas the P226 is a bit thicker from side to side. It doesn't answer your question about why you'd want a P226, but the grip size may be important if you have...

    Compact .45ACP --- Suggestions Please!

I have a HK45C which may fit your bill, as long as you don't mind the price and want a compact and not a sub-compact. It's expensive, but shoots like a dream. I also live in NJ now and can't carry, but the HK45C is a keeper.

    Should I buy this Sig?

Heck, you'll be able to tell if it's a P226ST once you get to hold it - much heavier than the standard models. Regardless of what model it actually it, the price sounds very good and would be difficult to pass up if you're looking for a gun like that.

    Should I buy this Sig?

I'd be a bit cautious as a NIB P226 would be more than $600 - especially with night sites and a nickel finish. You mention Hogue grips - what kind are these? Panel rubber? Wrap-arounds? Maybe this is an older Gun of the Month (GOTM) model?

    Wal-Mart Win. 45ACP 100 pack prices

Is the range owner re-selling the ammo for a higher price at the range?

Springfield XDm 9mm or Sig P226 Elite 9mm?

With price not a factor, I would pick the P226. One major plus for the XDm line is capacity, and you can get 17, 18, or 20 round magazines for the P226. Before moving to a capacity limited state, I had the 20-round magazines and they were great for the range (but they are expensive)...

First & Last Defensive Handgun - SIG 226 or 1911

Any reason why you're not considering the P220 instead of a P226? The P220 is much more comparable to the 1911 since they are both single stack designs in .45 ACP. I do agree that if there is going to be chances you'll be carrying it around, a somewhat smaller weapon may be more desirable...

I plan to purchase a .45 and I would like some input

What weapons do you have now that you are getting rid of to then buy 2 new guns? (Why are you getting rid of them to get new ones? Are you familiar with 1911's in general?) Don't buy into the Taurus hype of all these features in the gun you're buying for such a great deal. Is it an OK 1911...

    Opinions on HK USP .45

I never shot one, but was looking at buying one and just couldn't get a good grip on it. Even though I didn't need a CCW, I picked up the HK45c which feels and shoots great. Make sure you can grip it OK before buying.

    Low felt recoil 9mm help

Look at the Kahr line of metal autos. I had a MK9 which is their smallest (3" barrel if I remember) which handled recoil pretty nicely for such a small gun. Stepping up to their 4" barrel model (K9 I think) may give you exactly what you need.

    Favorite polymer .45 ACP?

I'd go with either a M&P45 or HK45 - depending on how much money you want to spend and/or if you had a specific trigger preference. Both are excellent handguns. While I never fired a XD45 Tactical, I did hold one and it felt great in the hands. The Glock grips were too fat for me (even the...

    Sig P250 vs Smith & Wesson M&P

Would you look to utilize any of the modular pieces of the P250? That would play a factor, though I honestly don't even know what's out there these days as Sig has been very slow getting this stuff out. Keep in mind that the P250 only comes with one magazine. You could get the M&P with 2...

    Dan Wesson 1911 VS. Heckler&Koch HK-45

I think you'd be better off 1st trying to determine if you want a 1911 or a 'combat' handgun, and then seeing if the Dan Wesson model is what you want in a 1911 or if the HK45 is what you want in a 'combat' handgun. To me the guns are two different styles and can't easily be compared. I've...

    Better of the three

^ I'm more interested in S&W's new model that combines a Commander-length slide with an Officers-length grip (just like a Colt CCO). Though for the OP, since you want to carry a full-size model, take a look at S&W's Scandium offering as it's lighter than their standard models.

    Better of the three

Can you let us know what specific models you're looking at for these brands? You mention CCW do does that mean you're looking at Commander or smaller sized guns, or are you planning to carry a full-sized model? My preference would be Springfield first, and then Kimber and Sig tied for a...

    HK45c or Glock?

I have a HK45c and think it's great. Yes, it's expensive (the gun, the mags, and .45 ammo), but it's fun to shoot at the range and 8 rounds isn't too bad capacity wise for carry or home defense. The G19 is a great all-around gun, and as noted the size is similar (or possibly smaller) than...

Selling Hi-Cap Handgun Magazines to LEO in CA - Rules?

I wouldn't knowingly sell a gun or accessories to somebody who I know has evil intent with them. But all I'm doing is something that appears on all levels to be completely legal. Should I not go through with the sale to spite the guy because he happens to be a LEO that lives in CA? So he...

Selling Hi-Cap Handgun Magazines to LEO in CA - Rules?

I had no idea there were so many moral issues wrapped up in this. It sounds like legally it can be done, though I'd want to make sure everything is properly covered on my end with documentation.

Selling Hi-Cap Handgun Magazines to LEO in CA - Rules?

I'm selling some hi-cap (13 round) handgun magazines, and a buyer in CA expressed interest. He stated he is a LEO and could provide documentation verifying this which would make the sale legal. Has anybody made sales like this? What specific documentation should I ask for (i.e. just a copy...

    Opinions Welcome on a Sub-Compact 9mm

Be sure to look at the M&Pc line. If I'm able to get back to a state where I can legally carry again, the first two guns I'm going to go back and think about buying are the M&Pc and/or MK9. What area do you live in? This may help decide how small of a gun you need (though the options...
