Taxed 37 times the cost of an item on Gunbroker

For everyone saying there is no tax on shipping, as mentioned previously, it depends on the State. Here in Florida, whenever our company ships to someone or business that is not considered tax exempt, we are supposed to charge sales tax on shipping.

    Turnbull Restoration

I had work done on an 1892 Winchester I purchased in White. It turned out beautiful. As far as 3-4 month wait, don’t count on it. I was told the same, it was closer to 7 months, but the end result was worth it.

    Sub-$1,000 .38 Super M1911?

When using the GOG link, my local LGS would be $662.00 out the door, taxes and fees included. I would still say that is cheap.

Let's Unpack This Part 2... (2019 Great American Outdoor Show)

It does look like the set screw is out a little bit, so my guess, you are correct.

    What 10MM would you choose.

While I am not a big fan of Sigs, probably the smoothest one I have shot with full house loads was the Sig in Stainless. The damn thing is a tank, but beware it is damn heavy. Personally, for the woods, if I were to carry a 10, would carry a Glock 20 or 40.

    1911 Reliability for Self Defense?

I laugh every time I read just how much tinkering and cleaning the 1911 need to keep running. Guess I must be lucky, as every one of my 1911’s are darn reliable, and my maintenance routine is pretty shabby. I field strip and clean them every 750-1000 rounds. My oldest one, a Springfield Loaded...

taking too many guns to the indoor range at the time ?

I generally prefer to bring two. Sometimes I will bring a third is shooting the same caliber. Most times I bring a .45 and 9mm or 38S. Others will bring along a 10mm and something else. Outdoor, since there is no time limitation, will bring a couple of handguns and a couple of rifles.

What "floats your boat" when it comes to guns?

Handguns, anything hammer fired. I own one striker, P320 and it just sits in the safe. My preference is SAO, so needless to say, my favorites are 1911’s. As I get older, starting to prefer the 9mm more and more. While I still enjoy shooting my 45’s and 10mm, I find that I shoot my 38S and 9mm...

Fiber Optic Front Sights: What Color?

For years, I used Red. One of my Red tubes broke, so replaced with the backup Green. Enjoyed shooting with the Green, found I could get on target better and quicker, so I have since changed all my FO to Green.
