Ruger M77 Tang Models; Short Action Lengthen Mag Box from 2.800 to 3.100

Ability to shoot a variety of heavier bullets for caliber, and maintain velocity. I've loaded for a short action Browning A bolt and have had very limited options for bullets at 2.800" in heavy for caliber.

Ruger M77 Tang Models; Short Action Lengthen Mag Box from 2.800 to 3.100

Who's the go to gunsmith to lengthen a SA Ruger M77 tang safety rifle mag box from standard 2.800" to 3.100" Or maybe the process is simple enough for the home shop machinist I'm not sure if barrel throat needs to be modified as well?

Talk me into finishing Browning A-Bolt BEDDING Stock

I won't be disassembling the rifle action or removing the barrel or anything like that. The factory wood stock is only bedded in the recoil lug area from Browning. This gun shot well to my liking. I'm looking for equal accuracy or better if possible. Also looking for a safe strong setup...

Talk me into finishing Browning A-Bolt BEDDING Stock

I can't remember the last time I was on the forum, but maybe the spirits will move me to pick this project back up. I've got a Browning A-Bolt Medallion in 284 win. Beautiful gun. So nice I am uncomfortable with it in the field. i really liked the caliber so i bought the gun. I've been riding...

Lever action hunters sling or no sling?

I don't sling any of my rifles, especially levers. Because my style of hunting is to walk and stalk, a shot that may present itself would usually be a surprise jump on game; so I walk with rifle on the ready as much as possible. Unless I'm getting tired I throw it up on my shoulder barrel...

    Heirloom handgun recommendations needed

    325wsm and H4831sc 200gr bullets

I read of people having good results with Varget, and H4831sc in 325wsm so I'm insure where I'll begin. I don't need to run this rifle full throttle either. It's more gun than I need. Which is one reason why I like the H4831sc, it fills the case even though it might tun 100fps slower than the...

    325wsm and H4831sc 200gr bullets

I'm thinking about maybe starting with Varget instead? Nosler doesn't publish Varget loads, but the powders they are using are similar burn rate to it. The H4831sc is not close on the burn rate chart to Noslers most accurate powder tested, the W760. One reason I'm thinking Varget is I just...

    325wsm and H4831sc 200gr bullets

Anyone having good luck with this combination and 200gr bullets?? I don't see it much in the reloading books. I would think if it was a good 300win mag powder why not the 325 short mag?

    RCBS dies worth a try?

Maybe I'll just stick to standard dies and moving the shoulder back 0.005"+ for field use. Moving the shoulder back minimally has worked for me.

    RCBS dies worth a try?

I just ran across RCBS "X" dies I have no experience with them and am considering them as a new choice? I strictly reload for hunting and target, I'm no match shooter. But obviously if I can make better ammo I'm interested in learning more. Are these an affordable upgrade over standard dies...
