    What is your favorite rifle?

Before I had open heart surgury, I talked to several shooters that were vetrans of that battle, so built an after surgury rifle, then another, both on the AR-15 platform for reduced weight and in 6mm for more power than the 223 at reduced recoil. First was a 6mm Mongoose, second was a 24 Varmint...

Looking for a Handgun for Work

You never hat a perp with your gun, ever, unless you want to loose use of your gun., as in BROKEN. It is why you carry a D six cell aircraft aluminum flashlight so you can, see better.....to find the perp laying on the ground. Jollywood is the only place on earth you hit a perp with you sidearm.

One shotgun to rule them all

Suggest join a club or go to a larger show and look for a nice condition 30" Browning Citori 20 ga gun. Many Clays shooters change guns like a shirt, so they do come along. The Citori is a lifetime gun for 90% of owner/shooters, plus if you carry a Citori you are always well dressed. The...

What do have waiting for you in the reloading room?

Got some 358 Win made up from 308 brass to go in the M-96 Mauser 6.5x55 conversion to the 358. The 1943 Husky 96 is a 3/4 action so takes a bit different reloading technique to get proper feed along with a bit of ramp and feed mod, mostly minor stuff. Decided I would give the conversion a try.

Looking for a Handgun for Work

Sounds like you buy it and it is your gun, deal. I would buy a Glock 19 in 9mm or a 23 in 40. Then on my gun, I would change the sights, the trigger and the back strap to fit my hand. The 23 on the right has Novak sights, a Ghost Maker 3 pound thrigger and now a 357 Sig barrel and a 40 barrel...

What gunsmithing or repairs have you done today

Finishing up a M-96 conversion to a 358 Win. Found a new arsenal 1943 Husky action with bolt and bottom metal, Didid a bit of alteration and fitting, added a Richards Dul Grip English walnut stock. So far has 48 mods. Looks like this now before the wood is finished.

    Who scopes their .22s?

Have a few of different types. The Buckmark Silhouette with a 2 MOA Gilmore is not shown nor is the 3x12 513T. The 16" 510 shoots pine cones at 200. Ram Meister I cut it out and put together in Steve Brady's shop, had a week to go before the match, tied for 1st in Intl Class Unlimited Any Sight...

A visit to a gun store in the Czech Republic.

The Czech Constitution was created from the US Constitution and the Czech people are justifiably proud of their freedoms and country. When the Russians invaded and took over, like Hungry, they asked for US help, that request was ignored. My two doctors, husband and wife, world class, are both...

    Switchblade laws

FL has a CWP that is no longer required, but the resiprosity does not apply without the actual permit. So called "universal carry", reads exactly, word for word, as the CWP law reads in FL. CWP means Concealed Weapons Permit. Importance is the (s) and by verbiage includes switchblades...

Most inaccurate rifle I've shot in a long time, and it's a head-scratcher.

If you pull the metal out of the stock and put a chamber plug in the chamber then fill the bore with Shooters Choice Copper Solvent, let it sit for 7 full days, all the copper should bronze brush out. If not repeat. When back to bright steel, do a barrel break in. I use a Sweet Shooter wet bore...

A Private Investigator's gun, she is from Memphis, specializes in abused children cases. I put this 637 together for her to replace her 60 as it is lighter. I believe she would shoot a perp in a NY second. Covers some rough areas.

What was your first marksmanship badge of honor? .....

Odd how memories get brought back, 1950-51 my six cousins came over with their BB guns, a mean as a snake, farm bunch. Probably have no idea what I am talking about. So cousin Charles gave me his Daisy Red Rider BB gun to shoot. I was five at the time. After a bit the cousins decided to play...

CZ 527 has never ejected 22 hornet cases

If your gun sat for a long period, it might have surface rust in the chamber. Examine a piece of fired brass, if any frosted look anywhere on the brass, run a bronze brush in the chamber on a slow drill with some solvent Bullets; the regular Hornet twist 1-16 does not do heavy bullets, 40 RN...

    Reduced Load for fireforming 300WM

I do not use reduced loads for fire forming brass. Did that for years, but learned different from three PHD Ballistics Engineers working the Gau 8 Ammo project. Our range was used by the project engineers to shoot on during their off times. We had Lockheed, GE and Honeywell folks about during...

    Casters- Which Powder Coat?

I powder coat using an automotive chrome blackout powder, all black, used for wheel and other chrome coatings on cars. Use the shake and bake method of PC with plain base bullets, sized to grove diameter using case lube after baking. I use the bullets in my ARs without any issue. Oh, the 358...

Custom Engraving - Simple Text Only

If you start duplicating factory markings on current manufactured guns, then creating model numbers that do not exist, sounds like a great way to get your bell rung by the ATF. They get pretty grouchy about NFA required markings, registration, etc., and making up stuff as you go. The term is...
