    suspicious reply from armslist

Thank you all for the insights into possible scams. Now I'm even more nervous about trying to sell other guns through armslist or gunbroker. Today I was fortunate to find a local buyer and sold the gun using the transfer service of a LGS for $20.00. Guess that will be my preferred method.

    suspicious reply from armslist

I just posted a rifle for sale on Armslist. I was asking $650.00 for a Remington 700 in .222 Mag with Weaver K12 scope. Within minutes I received a reply stating "I'll pay you $700.00 plus $40 S&H if you will ship to my ffl dealer in California." I've never sold anything on any internet...

    What was your first gun?

Montgomery Wards Hawthorne single shot bolt action .22. Got it in 1960 I think. Still have it and it's still a tack driver. I think they were made by Colt for Monkey Wards. I've babied it for about 60 years and it's still in nice condition.

    Gun safes.

Back in the 70s when I was a young man, I was doing some work at a bank that had closed and was being rebuilt into a church. I was talking to the general contractor who was in the cellar looking at the vault door which opened into the room for the safety deposit boxs. He just wanted the vault...

    RSO Stories

A friend brought me to his club. I'd never been there before and we're shooting trap which is something that I almost never do. I'm being super safety concious at a new club. I'm behind the shooter awaiting my turn. The shooter fires and misses. I immediately here a shotgun blast from...

What's the best gun deal you've ever gotten?

Well I've been lucky enough to have received lots and lots of guns for free. Mostly from elderly women whose husbands died and left them with guns they didn't want. That would be a long list of guns from junk to really nice, including N.I.B. I was also a LEO a long time ago and it wasn't that...

    Cheapest gun you've ever bought

The cheapest nice gun I ever bought, and actually still remember, was a trapdoor springfield carbine for $40.00. I foolishly sold it a few years later for $125.00. I've had lots cheaper guns that were junkers but I still wish I kept the trapdoor carbine.

Identity and Date of Manufacture of S&W Revolvers

I have a 2 inch barrel, .22 cal, mod 34-1 ser # 102xxx, no letter prefix. I bought it around 1972 or 73. I'm pretty sure it was used when I bought it but that was too far back and too many guns back to remember. I haven't shot it in years and now I'm thinking of selling it. I'd sure like to...

Hi all, I've been a shooter for a long time and now I'm getting older and I'm thinking it's time to sell some of my guns. I still have many of the guns I've owned, some since the early 60s. I
