I never had defensive ammo so bought the Federal Premium Tactical HST 124 gr recently after reading bunch on 124 vs 147.
Haven't even test fired it. Stopped going to range since the pandemic.
Federal Premium Tactical HST, P9HST1 124 grain.
I was debating between this and the 147 hst.
I watched this video before making the decision.
What's your experience?
Thanks all for comments.
Yes, the main goal is to simulate M&P 9mm compact.
After months of researching, I've narrowed down to M&P 22LR.
Out of two versions, I am most probably going with compact due to US made and metal safety and size is also not that much difference.
Will know next week.
The only 22LR I'd consider in that format is M&P 22 as I have M&P9.
I looked at that. It's $199 at some sites but lots of threads mention they are terrible so not sure about it.
Thinking of getting a 22LR for building up skills.
I thought about getting M&P 22LR as I have M&P 9 but a lot of you suggested on getting a target 22LR so I read a lot of threads and watched a lot of videos.
It comes down to basically 3 semiautomatic 22LR pistols.
1. Ruger Mark
2. Browning Buck...
I only go to indoor range.
Not sure a target pistol like Ruger Mark IV, SW Victory, Buckmark etc... or something like M&P, Walther... are better for indoor shooting.
The M&P doesn't have magazine safety but I want to dry fire with the magazine.
It doesn't feel the same without magazine sticking out on the grip and weight is off as well.
As for ammo in the room, I lock ammo inside the pistol safe.
How important is another room? I heard it in few videos...
This is what I was doing.
I racked the slide all the way to the back and it locked.
Then I pulled the rack back so I can press the slide lock down.
Then I pulled the trigger.
Again, I racked the slide all the way to the back and it locked... same thing as before.
And I thought, man this dry...
My range had members event today and first prize was a XDM 45.
As usual, I never win anything, no luck, not even for the small accessories prizes. :(
However, here's the good part.
There were reps from Springfield and Vortex offering free try out sessions.
So I got to try few guns that I never...
Today's my 5th ever session with gun in my life and it happened.
A shell flew over my head and into the collar of my shirt.
Hurt really bad and immediately Florida guy shooting his son flashed in my brain and I first dropped (put very quickly) the gun on the table before pulling my shirt away...
Today is my 5th gun day ever in my life and I'm finally enjoying it little bit as the groups are getting wayyyy better. :)
I don't know how long it takes for someone to get decent group at 5 and 7 yards but it's my 5th time.
I kept most of the suggestions, youtube videos, articles, etc... in...
