    New 10mm SIG introduced

I don't like the front heavy feel of my G40, although it does compensate for muzzle flip from the G20. I found my RIA ultra 1911 better balanced, but I wish I could shoot it better... Hands down the best feeling pistol if ever shot is a SIG P220 4.5? (.75) in .45 ACP that my buddy let me...

    Few shots on opening day

We're shotgunning in Massac county (very southern Illinois) this weekend. Thursday afternoon as we were setting up stands, we ran up on a buck chasing 2 does. He wasn't even paying us any attention. We saw lots of big deer, including some nice bucks at dusk. Fast forward to Friday morning, my...

    10mm Brass Shortage?

When I first bought my 10mm, Midway had S&B 50 round boxes for about $14. The loads are pretty anemic, but hey, cheap brass. When I started reloading the brass, I noticed that the primer pockets were tight, there was almost a crimp around the top of the pocket. I didn't have a swage or a...

RMR 124gr JHP & FMJ - Powder Choice?

I loaded my first 2000+ RMR 124gr FMJs with 4.3 grains Bullseye at 1.125 at just under 1000fps. It fit all my 9mms, was accurate and economical. I tried other powders Power Pistol, BE-86, and Win 231, but really liked Bullseye. I picked up an 8lb of BE-86 that I was using for 40sw and...

    Coated bullets

I've used SnS casting coated 230gr RN without a groove for over 2 years.. Love em. They're cheap, available, and accurate. I don't think that 2 of my .45s have ever seen a factory round. .45s are the perfect cartridge to try a coated bullet on. Slow enough not to worry about the coating, big...

    10mm and 180gr bullets..powder choice

I like BE-86 and Blue dot.. I've tried Longshot, Power Pistol, they just don't preform as well for me. Longshot shines in a .40 with a 165 gr. projectile though. Power pistol flattens primers quite a bit in the upper range. I have yet to try any AA#7 or #9, though I want to. Just my $.02..

I found the cure to the buying gun addiction

It happens.. When you decide that you like guns, and want to own guns, you go on a spree and just buy. Then you'll settle down when you realize that not all firearms are created equal. You'll regret a purchase or 2, but at that point you'll have an idea what you really want. And that is the...

    Storing brass

I use our left over cat litter buckets with the red flip top lids. I don't know that the lids are actually "sealed", but the do hold a lot of pistol brass. I don't sort pistol brass, so it all mixed HS. Now that I've started loading a few rifle calibers, I've noticed the need for smaller...

    Dillon STILL rocks

I bought a barely used 550 with some trimmings from a buddy and I found that the Eliminator scale was missing the tray hanger. I couldn't find the part on their website, so I gave them a call. The gentleman on the other end told me to ship the entire scale to them and they would get the hanger...

    Feedback on KYGUNCO

I ordered a Rock 10 ultra over their 12 days of Christmas sale. Received it quickly. I've got zero complaints. As a matter of fact, I check their website quite often. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.

    What did you shoot today?

New to me Beretta M9 Canik TPS9 elite Browning Hi Power Rock Island Tac Ultra 10mm For the first time in a while, I made it out to the range today. I've been loading some 9mm for the past week, so I took a couple hundred of my older 9mm rounds out. I also took the 10mm for a little fun...

    Loading 9mm

I've went through a couple 1 lb jugs of Bullseye while loading 9mm. It's my go to for paper punching. It's a little dirty, but it's cheap and effective. 4.2 grains behind an RMR 124 grain FMJ is an accurate, almost 1000 fps load for me. However, I picked up an 8lber of BE-86 and that's going...

    loading 10mm for velocity

I bought the 8lber because I liked the powder in 10mm and .40. it's pretty versatile as well, plenty of data for 9mm and .45acp. Not too bad in 45 colt either!

    loading 10mm for velocity

They were very stout loads out of my glock 40. I think a 6inch barrel may have a bit to do with that. I have since changed the sights on the glock as well.. ooohh, now I'm excited. I did find myself shooting the 1911 a lot more last spring, though.. Either way, I go is fine. Now I want to...

    loading 10mm for velocity

I've kind of forgotten about that post, actually. I've since gotten a chronograph, but I was out of BE-86 for a while and hadn't chrono'd it. I have since gotten a 8lb jug of it, but I want to thin out the herd of older, usable powders first, so it is still unopened. Longshot and power pistol...

    Trouble sizing .40

The base bulge on a .40s&w does seem to be more often and more noticeable than on .45acp and 9mm. Definitely look into the Lee bulge buster, it will make loading .40's much less of a headache. I like to tumble my brass then immediately run them through the bulge buster. They might not all...
